This is a hybrid role: about 50% software development and 50% teaching / student support. You will help build our learning platform, improve our internal tools, support students, review projects, and help shape how coding should be taught in the AI-native era.\n\nWhy This Role Exists\n\nAI is changing both software development and education. Students no longer just need lectures and tutorials. They need real projects, feedback, debugging help, AI-native workflows, and a learning system that helps them build skill, confidence, and proof of work. That is what we are building at Sigmaschool. This role exists because we need someone who can both:\n\nBuild software\n\nHelp students become better software builders\n\nYou will not just teach from slides. You will work on real product development while helping students learn the same skills in a practical, beginner-friendly way.\n\nWhat You’ll Work On\n\n1. Build Sigmo, Our AI-Powered Learning Platform\n\nYou will contribute to the development of Sigmo, our internal learning platform.\n\nSigmo is designed to help students learn software development through:\n\nGamified missions\n\nProject-based learning\n\nAI-assisted coding support\n\nStudent progress tracking\n\nSkill assessments\n\nLearning analytics\n\nFeedback loops\n\nPortfolio-building workflows\n\nMentor and instructor dashboards\n\nYou will help turn learning ideas into real product features.\n\nThis may include building:\n\nStudent dashboards\n\nMission and lesson flows\n\nCoding challenge interfaces\n\nAI tutor / AI coding buddy features\n\nProgress tracking systems\n\nAdmin and mentor tools\n\nAssessment and review workflows\n\nGamification systems\n\nInternal automation tools\n\n2. Do Real Software Development Work\n\nYou will be expected to write code, ship features, fix bugs, and improve product quality.\n\nOur stack may include:\n\nNext.js\n\nReact\n\nTypeScript\n\nTailwind CSS\n\nNode.js\n\nSupabase / PostgreSQL\n\nAPIs\n\nAuthentication\n\nAI APIs\n\nVercel\n\nGitHub\n\nAI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, or Claude Code\n\nYou do not need to know every tool perfectly from day one.\n\nBut you must be able to learn fast, debug properly, and build real working software.\n\n3. Support Students in Learning Software Development\n\nYou will also support students in our AI-native software development bootcamp.\n\nThis includes helping them understand:\n\nHTML, CSS, JavaScript\n\nReact / Next.js\n\nBackend development\n\nAPIs\n\nDatabases\n\nAuthentication\n\nGit and GitHub\n\nDebugging\n\nDeployment\n\nAI-assisted coding workflows\n\nYour job is not to spoon-feed answers.\n\nYour job is to help students think clearly, debug systematically, understand their code, and build confidence.\n\n4. Review Student Projects and Give Technical Feedback\n\nStudents will be building real projects throughout the programme.\n\nYou will review:\n\nCode quality\n\nProject structure\n\nFeature completion\n\nUI and functionality\n\nGitHub repositories\n\nDeployment readiness\n\nAI-generated code quality\n\nAbility to explain what they built\n\nThe goal is to help students move from:\n\n“I followed a tutorial” to: “I understand what I built and can improve it.”\n\n5. Improve Curriculum, Missions, and Learning Experience\n\nBecause you will be both building the platform and supporting students, you will help us improve how students learn.\n\nYou may help create or improve:\n\nCoding missions\n\nProject briefs\n\nLesson notes\n\nDebugging guides\n\nAI workflow guides\n\nAssessment rubrics\n\nStudent checklists\n\nMentor dashboards\n\nProduct features that improve learning outcomes\n\nThis role is ideal for someone who likes both building software and building better ways for people to learn software.\n\nWho We’re Looking For\n\nYou may be a strong fit if you are:\n\nA junior to mid-level software developer\n\nA bootcamp graduate with strong fundamentals\n\nA CS / software engineering graduate who enjoys teaching\n\nA self-taught developer with real project experience\n\nA product-minded developer interested in AI and education\n\nA developer who wants to grow into engineering, product, education, or technical leadership\n\nYou do not need to be a senior engineer.
