Sort and review parts, help engineering and manufacturing determine process history of parts, perform tests and reprocessing as directed to establish root cause, complete paperwork, scrap or reprocess.\nAssist manufacturing in Operating procedure and work instruction improvements.\nWork on scrap problems.\nCoordinate the machining of parts for development.\nPull samples and coordinate inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT).\nCoordinate and monitor subcontracting of samples.\nMaintain multi-variable sample (DOE) tracking.\nPerform tasks as directed to get samples input, assembled (including hand waxing as needed), working with manufacturing on processing and feedback collection, and tested through NDT and layout. These may be for new parts or problem solving/continuous improvement on existing parts.\nMake wax assembly templates in conjunction with engineering and manufacturing\nPerform experiments and tests as assigned\nHelp with improvements and problem solving of parts and processes.\nKeep detailed and organized notes/observations/photographs on activities, data, and results.\nWork off shift hours as needed\nSupervisory Responsibilities - None.\nQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess good computer skills and be able to learn new skills as needed. This position requires one to two years of training. Knowledge to create Excel spreadsheets and analyze date or ability to learn. Requires one to three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical aptitude with equipment, tooling and fixturing.\nCOMMUNICATION SKILLS:\nMust be able to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solve problems, and instruct or train lesser skilled employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence. Must be able to write standard reports and documentation.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS:\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.\nREASONING ABILITY:\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nRequires the ability to operate various equipment to include various precision measuring devices and lifting devices. Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices. Should be knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/TS and quality system requirements and policies.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.\nPROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:\nSafety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and bump caps must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
