Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment. Complies with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.\nPrioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.\nEnsure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the company’s standards for quality, quantity, safety, and ISO/TS.\nParticipate in planning meetings, recommending space, personnel, and equipment requirements. Be part of the hiring process.\nEnsure adherence to ISO/TS procedures and requirements, participate in ISO/TS planning sessions.\nRecommend preventative maintenance procedures and plan the repair of machines and equipment to minimize downtime.\nContinually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.\nAct as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.\nMaintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.\nEnsure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as time cards, quality records, etc.\nApprove vacation schedules.\nEnforce safety regulations.\nConfer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.\nPlan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.\nInspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.\nObserve work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.\nConduct employee training on equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers. \nConduct employee probationary and eight-month performance reviews.\nInterpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.\nKeep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.\nRead and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.\nSupervisory Responsibilities - Manage Master Technicians and Manufacturing Technicians.\n\nQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: \nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires one to two years of training.\n\nCOMMUNICATION SKILLS: \nMust be able to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solves problems, and instruct or train lesser skilled employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as part drawings, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence. Must be able to write standard reports and documentation.\n\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS: \nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. \n\nREASONING ABILITY: \nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\n\nOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: \nRequires the ability to operate various equipment to include computer, various precision measuring devices and lifting devices. Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices. Should be knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/TS and quality system requirements and policies.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS: \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.\n\nPROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:\nSafety glasses and safety shoes must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
