Through our leadership in connected lighting and the Internet of Things, we’re breaking new grounds in data analytics, AI, and smart homes, offices, cities and more!\nRole Summary\nWe’re looking for a Software & System Test Automation Engineer to join our OEM R&D team in Bangalore with hands-on experience and leadership capability to stabilize and strengthen the MasterConnect test team. This role requires ownership of test automation, test strategy and release validation, with a focus on improving test quality and reducing dependency on development.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead or coordinate testing activities, ensuring clear ownership and accountability within the test team\n\nTake ownership of test planning, execution and release validation for the MasterConnect mobile application\n\nMentor and guide junior team members and improve overall team capability\n\nDrive and implement test automation (Robot Framework / API / Mobile) with hands-on contribution\n\nContribute to improving test frameworks (including BLE mock, API automation and CI/CD integration)\n\nIdentify test coverage gaps and improve regression depth (including negative, edge, and integration scenarios)\n\nEnsure early validation of features by working closely with Development teams\n\nEstablish structured validation checkpoints before release and ensure quality sign-off readiness\n\nMust Have Skills\nBachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent, with 8+ years of relevant experience in test automation\n\nStrong hands-on experience in test automation using Java / Python /JavaScript, Robot Framework / API / Mobile testing\n\nExperience in IoT domain (BLE / Zigbee or similar)\n\nHands-on experience in mobile application testing (FlutterDriver / Appium or similar tools)\n\nGood understanding of testing frameworks, methodologies, and automation design practices\n\nStrong understanding of test design, regression strategy, and defect analysis\n\nAbility to write, debug, and maintain automation scripts independently\n\nExperience with test management tools (Xray) and working knowledge of Bitbucket and JIRA\n\nExperience working in Agile teams with close Dev-QA collaboration\n\nGood communication and coordination skills\n\nISTQB Foundation certification is an advantage\n\nKey Success Criteria (First 3-6 months)\nAble to independently contribute to automation and testing within first 4-6 weeks\n\nTake ownership of feature-level testing and validation\n\nImprove regression coverage and reduce defect leakage\n\nSupport stabilization of test team by bringing structure and clarity\n\nImportant Note\nThis role requires a hands-on contributor who can lead by example, not just coordinate work.
