Therefore, if you are interested, pleasesubmityour application as early as possible.\nRole Overview\nThe Senior Real-Time / Telephony Engineer will lead the call path end to end. This role will work across video, voice, signaling, and carrier integration, and will be our deep specialist for SIP, WebRTC, media interop, and emergency calling. As we operate across multiple regions locally and globally, you will become the senior escalation point for call-path and media incidents wherever they happen.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage SIP integration with carrier partners, including trunk configuration and call routing logic.\n\nLead WebRTC media end to end: signaling, ICE/STUN/TURN, codec negotiation, and interop between WebRTC and SIP endpoints.\n\nSupport number provisioning, porting, and lifecycle management across regions.\n\nImplement and test emergency-calling workflows, including E911/NG911 in North America and equivalent routing in other regions.\n\nMonitor and troubleshoot call quality, including jitter, packet loss, and latency.\n\nServe as Tier 3 escalation for live call-path and media incidents as part of an on-call rotation.\n\nNavigate telephony and regulatory differences across SignWow operating regions.\n\nSkills & Experience Required - Essential \n\nStrong VoIP fundamentals: SIP, RTP, SDP, and real-time signaling.\n\nHands-on WebRTC experience, including media servers and connectivity (ICE/STUN/TURN).\n\nExperience integrating carrier or SIP-trunk providers in production.\n\nComfortable debugging live calls with packet captures, for example Wireshark.\n\nUses AI tools to work faster while retaining responsibility for design, architecture, and judgment calls.\n\nComfortable carrying a pager and leading incident response on an always-on service.\n\nSkills & Experience Required - Desirable\n\nEmergency-calling experience, such as E911/NG911 or international equivalents.\n\nNumber porting and provisioning at scale.\n\nExperience running self-hosted real-time media infrastructure.\n\nMulti-region or multi-carrier telecom exposure.\n\nAmerican Sign Language (ASL) knowledge is a strong plus.\n\nOur Stack\n\nWebRTC and self-hosted real-time media infrastructure.\n\nSIP and telephony through specialist carrier partners.\n\nTypeScript / Node ecosystem.\n\nPostgreSQL, Redis, websocket, and event-driven services.\n\nCloud infrastructure, containers, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD.\n\nAsync-first workflow with GitHub, Linear, Slack, and Notion.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nBuild the reliability foundation of a mission-driven accessibility service from the ground up.\n\nReal responsibility and direct work with the founders, without bureaucracy layers.\n\nFlexible, results-focused remote work.\n\nJoin a Deaf-led company making everyday communication more accessible.\n\nThe anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $225,000. The role may require flexibility to support urgent service requests and changing scheduling needs.\nThis position is primarily remote and open to candidates residing in U.S. states in which SignWow is authorized to employ personnel.
