Main responsibilities:\n\nImprove existing formulations in terms of performance and/or cost to meet the market needs \nDevelop new products to meet market needs \nEvaluate and approve alternative raw materials for cost and/or performance purpose \nOrganize and prioritize projects to meet project timeline agree by lab manager and /or TMM and/or LET \nPerform production trials for improved and new formulations after justify in lab trials \nPerform lab test with customer when is necessary \nPerform field test with customers and/or TSD personnel at site, especially on new products \nPerform plant trials for grinding aid in cement plants when necessary \nResponsible for maintaining the lab cleanliness and equipment functionality at all time \nResponsible for safety and environmental matters \nBe proactive at the interface between R&D and QC \nBack up the QC activity when necessary \nBOM Management: Ensure that Bills of Material are updated for any change to raw materials or formulations relating to manufactured products.\nSafety\nTo ensure EHS compliance as per Sika policy and EHS minimum requirements\nReports any hazards immediately adhering to superior or EHS personnel\nComply to Sika Life Saving Rule\nParticipate in EHS related training\nOthers\nAny other tasks assigned from time to time\nTo perform other job functions, deem necessary by immediate Superior / Management.\nSecurity\nMaintain Sika information with appropriate secrecy and adhere to policies regarding confidential information\nAlways maintain confidentiality of formulation\n Minimum bachelor’s degree in science or applied science (Chemistry) plus relevant laboratory experience.\nMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in research and development, with a focus on cementitious materials, concrete technology, or related areas.\nPatient, hardworking, analytical mind, initiative, good interpersonal skill, willing to travel to sites, results oriented, strong planning, problem solving; \nMust be able to communicate well in both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia\nMature, highly motivated with strong inter-personal, leadership and management skills; and\nTrain and development Lab team and others where applicable.\nComputer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)\nGood analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAttention to detail and ability to work under pressure.\n We offer competitive salaries, aligned with local market benchmarks and the specific scope and responsibilities of each role.
