This role is responsible for managing scope, schedule, and deliverables, while ensuring alignment with CCSQ and ISG strategic priorities. The Project Manager provides day-to-day oversight of project execution, coordinates across cross-functional teams, and ensures transparency through reporting, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Operating within a complex federal health IT environment, the Project Manager ensures that project activities are effectively planned, tracked, and executed, with risks and dependencies proactively managed. This role supports integrated planning and execution across programs and LOBs, enabling consistent delivery aligned with CMS objectives and operational requirements.\nWhat will you do in this role?\nProject Planning and Execution\nLead execution of larger or more complex projects involving multiple teams, workstreams, or LOBs\nLead planning and execution of project activities, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and delivery objectives\nDevelop and maintain project plans, timelines, and work breakdown structures\nCoordinate across project teams to ensure timely execution of tasks and milestones\nSupport planning and execution of key program activities, including PI Planning, governance meetings, and project reviews\nProject Coordination and Delivery Management\nProvide oversight across multiple concurrent projects or workstreams, ensuring alignment and prioritization\nManage day-to-day coordination across cross-functional teams, including technical, program, and stakeholder groups\nEnsure alignment between project activities, priorities, and dependencies\nMonitor project progress and proactively address execution challenges\nFacilitate resolution of cross-team dependencies and delivery risks\nReporting and Performance Management\nLead development and quality review of project reporting artifacts and executive deliverables\nDevelop and maintain project-level reporting, including status updates, risks, and performance metrics\nProvide visibility into project performance through dashboards, executive summaries, and status reports\nEnsure accuracy and consistency of data used in reporting and decision-making\nSupport tracking of KPIs, OKRs, and other performance indicators\nRisk, Issue, and Dependency Management\nIdentify, track, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies across project activities\nMaintain risk and issue logs in CMS-approved tools (e.g., Jira)\nCoordinate with teams to monitor mitigation strategies and escalate issues as needed\nEnsure alignment with CMS risk management processes and frameworks\nStakeholder Engagement and Communication\nServe as primary point of contact for project delivery, stakeholder coordination, and issue resolution\nServe as a key point of coordination between project teams, leadership, and stakeholders\nEnsure clear and consistent communication of project priorities, progress, and decisions\nSupport preparation and delivery of executive-level materials, briefings, and updates\nFacilitate stakeholder alignment across teams and program areas\nGovernance and Process Alignment\nSupport refinement of project management processes, governance structures, and delivery practices\nEnsure adherence to established governance structures, processes, and standards\nSupport implementation of project management practices aligned to CMS and CCSQ expectations\nContribute to continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and templates\nPromote transparency, accountability, and consistency across project activities\nTeam Leadership and Mentorship\nMentor and guide junior project management staff, supporting onboarding and development\nAd Hoc Project Support\nCoordinate closely with the Portfolio Manager and LOB Leads on high-visibility initiatives and cross-program efforts\nProvide support for emerging, time-sensitive, or high-visibility project needs\nSupport special initiatives, leadership requests, and cross-program coordination efforts\nEnsure responsiveness to evolving CCSQ priorities while maintaining alignment with project objectives\nWhat do you need to succeed in this role?\nBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) \nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability for government client\n8+ years of experience managing projects within federal IT or health IT environments \nDemonstrated experience leading complex or multi-workstream projects \nExperience managing stakeholder engagement across multiple teams or organizations \nExperience overseeing project performance, reporting, and delivery outcomes \nStrong leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills\nPreferred Certifications & Qualifications\nPrior CMS, HHS, or CCSQ/ISG experience strongly preferred\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification\nSAFe certification or Agile certification\nExperience supporting multiple concurrent projects or workstreams within a portfolio environment\nFamiliarity with CCSQ Lines of Business (HQR, QPP, CQP/QIO, iQIES, EQRS) or similar programs\nExperience supporting risk management processes (e.g., RIMP, ROAM)\nExperience developing dashboards, reporting tools, or executive-level briefings\nExperience supporting governance processes and stakeholder engagement across programs\nIn compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the base compensationrange(25%-50%-75%)for this role is $125,000- $130,000- $135,000. This is not a guarantee ofcompensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on several factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
