Learn more atwww.silabs.com.\nThe Team\nThe Hardware Tools team is a dedicated team of hardware engineers, partly located in Oslo, Norway. We are responsible for delivering world-class development tools for Silicon Labs’ current and future portfolio of wireless devices and microcontrollers.\nOur tasks cover all aspects of hardware development, from design specification to following up our contract manufacturer, ensuring timely delivery of around 150 different development kit types to customers worldwide. We also design our own hardware infrastructure for circuit board production tests.\nThe Role\nWe are seeking a Senior or staff hardware engineer with a background in embedded systems design. Key responsibilities will be hardware development, from architecture development through schematic capture, PCB design, and prototype validation in the lab.\nKey Responsibilities\nEmbedded system design and architecture\nBoard design, including schematics and layout\nPrototype test and design validation\nDesign for manufacturing\nAutomated test system development\nDocumentation\nEducation and Experience:\nMS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent education) and 5+ years of professional experience in electronics design. An advanced degree or extensive relevant experience may reduce the minimum experience required.\nQualifications:\nEmbedded system designer with deep knowledge of all phases of electronic circuit design, including manufacturing and production testing\nExperience/knowledge in low-power design techniques\nKnowledge of microcontrollers, wireless microcontrollers, and FPGAs\nProficiency with schematic capture tools\nExperience with automation and scripting\nGenuine interest for development processes\nGood understanding of embedded software, or the desire to learn more about the interaction between hardware, firmware and software in an embedded system\nIt is an advantage if you have:\nExperience using Altium Designer\nKnowledge of programming languages like C and Python\nSoft Skills:\nEnthusiastic, creative and innovative\nExcellent analytical and system troubleshooting skills\nMethodical, thorough and dedicated to quality\nGood written and oral communication skills\nTeam player\nWhat You’ll Get\nYou will be joining a highly skilled and tight-knit team where every engineer makes a significant impact on the end-product.
