test engineers to deliver high-quality embedded software that helps customers build innovative connected products.\nResponsibilities\nAs a Senior/ Associate Staff Wireless Embedded Software Engineer on the RAIL team, you will:\nDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software for Silicon Labs low-power wireless MCUs and SDKs\nOwn software features from requirements and design through implementation, validation, release, and long-term support\nBuild and enhance low-level firmware components such as device drivers, initialization and startup code, timing-sensitive system software, and radio control features\nOptimize software for performance, reliability, power efficiency, and memory/CPU utilization in real-time embedded environments\nDebug complex issues across software, firmware, hardware, and system boundaries using lab tools and debuggers\nCollaborate with hardware, silicon, systems, and product teams to define requirements, review designs, and support bring-up of new devices\nContribute to automated test, validation, and development tooling to improve product quality and engineering efficiency\nParticipate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions that raise engineering quality across the team\nMentor and support other engineers through technical guidance, collaboration, and best practices\nSkills You Will Need\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\n5+ years of professional experience in embedded software or firmware development\nStrong programming skills in Embedded C and/or C++\nExperience developing software for microcontrollers in resource-constrained, real-time environments, including bare metal and/or RTOS-based systems\nStrong debugging skills at the hardware/software boundary, with hands-on experience using tools such as debuggers, JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers\nExperience working on low-level embedded software such as device drivers, interrupts, peripheral interfaces, timing-sensitive code, or memory-constrained systems\nExperience taking features from design through implementation, test, and release\nExperience with artificial intelligence (AI) powered tools and technologies used to enhance productivity, analysis, and decision-making \nStrong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills\nThe following qualifications will be considered as a plus:\nExperience with wireless or connectivity technologies such as Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi, or proprietary radio systems\nExperience with communication stacks, radio control software, PHY/MAC-related functionality, or other timing-critical embedded software\nExperience optimizing embedded systems for low power, performance, and reliability\nExperience with common embedded interfaces and peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, timers, and interrupts\nExperience with Python or similar scripting languages for tooling, automation, testing, or build workflows\nExperience with automated test, CI, validation frameworks, or hardware-in-the-loop test environments\nExperience with silicon bring-up, hardware validation, or close collaboration with chip or board design teams\nExperience with multi-core microcontrollers, concurrency, synchronization, Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set.
