This team runs the compute clusters, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tooling that every team in the company depends on, from physicists running atom-scale simulations to software engineers shipping our quantum products.\nThe infrastructure covers a lot of ground. On any given day you might be tuning an HPC cluster running simulation workloads, maintaining GitHub Enterprise and CI pipelines across multiple products, or standing up new tooling on Kubernetes for a research team that needs compute at short notice. Our users range from theorists to hardware engineers, so the work stays varied and technically demanding.\nThis is a hands-on role at the intersection of HPC, DevOps, and R&D support, in one of the most technically ambitious companies in Australia. You will do more than maintain what exists. You will help shape the platform's direction as we scale, working directly alongside the people building fault-tolerant quantum computers from silicon.\nRole responsibilities\nOwn and operate our HPC compute clusters (on-prem and cloud) for simulation and quantum circuit workloads\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple products and toolchains (GitHub Enterprise, automated testing, deployment)\nManage internal application platforms and dev tooling on Kubernetes (Ansys, Sonnet, and our compute platform)\nSupport physics and research teams in accessing and getting the most from compute resources\nMonitor platform health, respond to incidents, and drive reliability improvements\nDevelop infrastructure-as-code practices that improve consistency and speed up onboarding\nYour experience\nEssential:\n3+ years in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering\nStrong Docker and Kubernetes\nStrong Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python)\nInfrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent)\nCI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent)\nHands-on with HPC or compute cluster environments\nCore networking services (DNS, DHCP, NTP)\nStrong troubleshooting across complex, multi-system environments, and clear communication with technical teams across the business\nNice to have:\nScientific or research computing experience\nMonitoring and telemetry tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)\nOther IaC or config tooling (Pulumi, Chef, Puppet)\nBroader networking infrastructure\nExposure to Ansys or similar simulation environments\nCuriosity about quantum computing (no physics degree required)\nEqual opportunity\nSQC is an equal opportunity employer.
