Working at the very center of the TCAD group, the Numerical Simulation Software Developer will help Silvaco develop and deliver high quality products and services.\nAs a member of the TCAD group, you will design, implement, evaluate, and improve numerical methods and linear solvers for use in Process and Device simulation. The successful candidate will be an experienced software development engineer with expertise in numerical techniques, especially developing and using iterative and direct linear solvers as part of the solution of partial different equations. As an integral member of a team of highly trained and experienced engineers, the successful candidate must also be able to:\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES; include but not limited to:\nDevelop, support, test, and maintain simulation software tools. \nIdentify and understand the limitations of existing software components. \nImprove and develop simulation methodologies. \nDevelop and maintain a library of linear solvers. \nDevelop and maintain parallel software using different methodologies such as threading, MPI, or CUDA. \nRely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. \nCommunicate complex ideas and testing results effectively; both orally and written \nMust be able to work independently and solve the problems on his/her own initiative. \nProvide accurate and effective written documentation. \nGood communication and organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving, good time management, and task prioritization skills. \n QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE\nPhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields. \n4 - 7 years of experience in the development of linear solvers and parallel programming. \nStrong proficiency in C++ or equivalent object-oriented programming language. \nExtensive experience in software design. \nExperience in software development within teams (code sharing). \nExperience in developing direct linear solvers, iterative linear solvers, and preconditioners. \nExperience in numerical methods and techniques relevant to the solution of partial differential equations. \nExperience in CPU parallel programming (POSIX threads, STL threads, OpenMP, or MPI). \nExperience in GPU parallel programming languages (CUDA). \nGood presentation skills, communication skills, and technical writing skills desired. \n Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and the range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
