You will design, build, and ship features across our lending platform from the underwriting and automation engine to the dashboards our customers use every day. You will work close to the business logic that drives real lending decisions, with strong customer and engineering ownership from day one.\nWe expect every engineer at Fuse to leverage AI tools as a core part of their daily workflow not only to code faster, to deploy AI-powered automations and agents that make each implementation faster and more reliable: automations, agentic workflows, and decisioning components that real customers depend on.\nWhat You'll Do\nImplement Fuse end-to-end full stack features across our platform: APIs and services on the backend, and customer-facing dashboards and operator tools on the frontend.\nModel and configure each client's lending domain in Fuse: loan types, underwriting rules, debt adjustment rules, task flows, adverse actions, and email/e-sign templates.\nBuild and maintain client-specific automations and workflows that orchestrate the end-to-end loan lifecycle, integrating with credit bureaus, KYC providers, banking rails, and document services.\nShip AI-powered features into production: LLM-based automations, classification and extraction pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool-using agents (e.g., MCP-style tool integrations) that operate on real customer data.\nOwn features end-to-end: scoping with implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration based on production signals.\nWrite clean, well-tested, observable code and contribute to our shared standards on code quality, reliability, and security.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nRequired\n3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, ideally in a full-stack role.\nStrong proficiency with a modern backend stack (Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar) and experience designing and consuming REST/GraphQL APIs.\nSolid frontend experience with React (Next.js a plus), TypeScript, and modern state management; able to ship polished, responsive UIs.\nComfortable working with relational databases (PostgreSQL), writing non-trivial queries, and thinking about data modeling for transactional systems.\nExperience deploying services to the cloud (AWS, GCP, or similar), with a working understanding of CI/CD, observability, and basic operational practices.\nComfortable working in English, both written and spoken; able to collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team.\nAI in Production Non-Negotiable\nAt Fuse, using AI tools effectively is part of the job. We do not just write code with AI assistants; we ship AI features to customers. We expect this candidate to demonstrate real, practical experience here.\nHands-on experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent) into production systems not just prototypes or notebooks.\nComfort with prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool/function calling, evaluation, and guardrails for AI-driven features.\nExperience with at least one of: retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, MCP servers/clients, vector search, or LLM observability.\nPragmatic understanding of when to use AI versus deterministic logic, including cost, latency, reliability, and risk trade-offs in regulated environments such as lending.\nDaily use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) with a clear point of view on where they help and where they hurt.\nNice To Have\nExperience in fintech, lending, payments, or other regulated/financial domains.\nFamiliarity with rule engines, workflow engines, or BPM-style systems.\nExperience designing event-driven architectures and integrating third-party financial APIs (credit bureaus, banking, KYC/AML, e-signature).\nExposure to evaluation frameworks for LLM applications and to building internal tooling for non-technical operators.\nHow We Work\nSmall, high-ownership teams: engineers talk directly to customers, PMs, and ops teams.\nStrong bias toward shipping: short feedback loops, frequent deploys, and trunk-based development.\nAI-native engineering culture: we invest in tooling, agents, and internal copilots that make every engineer more effective.\nWe care about code quality and reliability.
