Led by the Chief Financial Officer, the Engine Room is responsible for managing the business support functions and operations across Silverstripe including Finance, People and Culture, Data analytics and IT.\nAs our Management Accountant, you will support day-to-day accounting operations, creating financial visibility and optimise key systems to support business performance. The role reports to our Chief Financial Officer and plays a crucial role in delivering management reporting, developing rolling budgets and forecasts while championing continuous process improvement and automation across the finance function.\nWhat will you be doing?\nReporting & Analysis:Preparing monthly management reporting, delivering insights on financial performance, managing research and development incentive applications and collaborating with our data warehouse engineering team on reporting outputs.\nBudgets & Forecasts:Partnering with the Finance Manager on annual operating budgets, rolling financial forecasts, sales pipeline conversion modeling and developing business case analyses for growth opportunities.\nCore Accounting Operations:Month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, supporting payroll compliance and assisting with statutory annual preparations.\nProcess Review & Automation:Identifying and executing continuous improvement initiatives across tools like Xero and WorkflowMax, maintaining financial frameworks, and championing AI and automation to boost operational efficiency.\nWe’re looking for people who are:\nData-driven analysts:Excited to interpret complex financial data and raw figures to deliver clear, concise insights that support strategic decision-making.\nCollaborative communicators:Enjoying connecting across teams, you will partner closely with our Senior Leadership Team, Engine Room and vendor partners, explaining financial concepts clearly to non-finance individuals.\nProactive problem solvers:Confident in justifying and implementing change, maintaining high data integrity, and balancing big-picture thinking with a hands-on \"doing the doing\" approach.\nThis position suits a CA/CPA qualified accountantwith a minimum of 3 years of finance experience. The role offers a dynamic mix of commercial analysis, system optimisation and core accounting within a supportive, forward thinking tech environment.\nThe experience you can bring:\nQualifications:CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent professional accounting credential).\nExperience:3+ years in a finance or management accounting role, with strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles.\nTechnical Systems:Hands on experience with core accounting and reporting systems (e.g., Xero, WorkflowMax, Spotlight Reporting).\nAnalytical Capability:Exposure to or strong interest in financial modeling, commercial analysis, and cost modeling. \nAdaptability & Drive:Proven ability to manage competing priorities under deadline pressure, work independently, and maintain a high standard of financial governance.\nAbout our team:\nWith work from home flexibility, the Engine Room works in our Wellington office on average 4 days per week, and we are looking for someone who can be in the office at a similar cadence.
