Assists pathologists with special procedures.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nPrepares and processes tissue samples for routine histologic techniques\nRoutine techniques include: Fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy and staining\nAssists pathologists with surgical and frozen specimens\nPerforms IHC, Special Stains\nOperates and troubleshoots departmental automation\nAssists in maintaining inventory at appropriate levels\nAccessions specimen upon arrival in Histology laboratory\nPromotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits\nProvides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct\nOther duties as assigned that pertain to proper functioning of the histology lab\nRequired Qualifications:\nHistotechnologist, HTL(ASCP) or Histotechnician, HT (ASCP) certifications required or must be eligible to sit for the exam.
