The successful individual in this role will participate in the development of Silvus’ MANET radios and other advanced R&D projects with an emphasis on Electronics Hardware/PCBA design.\nThis position is based at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA, and is on a hybrid schedule; a minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.\nThe following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion. \nROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nComponent selection, schematic capture and PCB design of electrical systems based on an FPGA SoC with associated memory devices, transceivers, communication peripherals, and power management circuitry.\nDesign high fidelity mixed signal audio circuitry with excellent noise immunity.\nFollow good design practices to achieve successful mixed signal PCB design.\nDefine PCB stack up, materials, and design rules to meet performance requirements and manufacturing feasibility.\nPerform hardware bring-up, test, and root cause analysis on the bench, using common lab equipment.\nWork with PCB Designers, Software, FPGA, and RF teams for system-level implementation.\nEnsure designs do not produce EMI and are well isolated in high EMI environments.\nPerform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.\nMinimum six (6) years of experience in mixed signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs.\nDemonstrated expertise with complex mixed signal PCB design and HDI routing.\nExperienced with audio codecs and audio power amplifiers.\nExperience implementing digital communication peripherals at a hardware level, such as USB 3.0, 10Gb Ethernet, I2C, and RS232.\nExperience designing power supply trees to achieve high efficiency and low noise implementations.\nStrong familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, bench top supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer.\n Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.\nAll employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.\nPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nMaster’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.\nCompetency with simulation tools for high speed digital design and power supply design.\nProven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs and the Vivado IDE.\nExperience with video codecs.\nExperience with Altium Designer.\nKnowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark and MIL-STD-461.\nExperience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C.\nAbility to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.\nProblem-solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nWORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nOffice environment.\nOccasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.\nPerform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.\nKneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.\nWalking/Moving in the labs.\n\nCOMPENSATION\nThe pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.\nCA Pay Range\n$120,000—$180,000 USD\nConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
