The successful individual in this role will participate in the design, simulation, prototyping, and testing of wireless communication and sensing projects and products.\nThis position is based at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA and is on a hybrid schedule. A minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected; on-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.\nThe following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.\nROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAlgorithm and protocol design and parameterization for wireless systems projects.\nMATLAB & C/C++ based simulator development and maintenance.\nFixed point design and simulation in support of hardware implementation.\nHands-on work with Silvus radio products and Research & Development prototypes.\nSystem testing and characterization, to include:Lab equipment for signal generation, channel emulation, spectrum analysis, etc.\nCustom test utilities and data capture/analysis scripts.\nField test planning and execution.\n\nWork with hardware and software engineers to characterize and troubleshoot.\nWork with field test engineers to plan and execute realistic field testing.\nReport to project lead, department director, and management as needed.\nParticipate in the generation of technical documentation and presentations.\nTravel Requirements - semi-frequent local or long-distance travel for feature testing and demonstration.\nPerform other related duties of which the above are representative.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related technical fields.\nMinimum 6 years of communication systems design experience.\nFluent with C/C++, MATLAB, and/or Python.\nWorking knowledge of RF signal propagation, channel modeling, and digital communication technologies.\n Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.\nAll employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.\nPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nFamiliarity with cognitive radio, interference mitigation, RF sensing.\nFamiliarity with mesh networking, medium access control, and routing.\nKnowledge of MIMO, OFDM, and basic digital signal processing techniques.\nWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nOffice environment.\nOccasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.\nPerform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.\nKneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.\nWalking/Moving in the labs.\n\nCOMPENSATION\nThe pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.\nCA Pay Range\n$140,000—$200,000 USD\nConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
