The successful individual in this role will actively participate in all aspects of the design process to develop the RF subsystem for Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line. \nThis position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at our office in Rancho Bernardo, North San Diego, CA.\nThe following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.\nROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAntenna to baseband RF subsystem design using discrete circuitry or highly integrated RFICs.\n\nDiscrete design includes PLL, LNA, Mixers, PA etc.\n\nImplementing or supervising schematic capture and PCB layout.\n\nRF performance characterization, tuning, and troubleshooting.\n\nOverall system design to ensure good EMI performance.\n\nEnsure circuit board design and overall radio product can pass emission and immunity regulations.\n\nTroubleshoot RF-related production yield problems.\n\nImprove design for manufacturability.\n\nPerform other related duties of which the above are representative.\n\nTravel Requirement - Rare local travel, as required by Silvus (i.e. Irvine, West LA.\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelors of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.\n\nMinimum 5 years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience.\n\nGood working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging.\n\nHands-on experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues.\n\nExperience using RF simulation tools (i.e. AWR Microwave Office, Altium).\n\nMust be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.\n\nAll employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.\n\nPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nMaster of Science in Electrical Engineering.\n\nExcellent bench skills.\n\nProactive approach to problem-solving.\n\nDetail-oriented and a firm commitment to quality.\n\nAbility to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.\n\nProblem-solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nIndoor air-conditioned facility. \n\nOffice environment.\n\nOccasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:\n\nLift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.\n\nPerform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.\n\nKneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.\n\nWalking/Moving in the labs.\n\nCOMPENSATION\nThe pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.\nCA Pay Range\n$140,000—$190,000 USD\nConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
