The team works directly with Data Management Service Business Operations using Data Management Platform, which is a single instance, software as a service (SaaS) based product. It provides Reference Data Management and Valuation solutions for many of the world's leading and most innovative financial institutions, including regional and global banks and asset management firms.\nThe Lead Software Engineer in the DMS Change Team owns the technical direction for the customer layer of the product, drives design and architecture decisions, and leads a group of developers responsible for building, testing, and ensuring compatibility with the broader enterprise and solutions architecture through modern development technologies.\nThe Lead Software Engineer will also define and drive new capabilities that support Data Management Service Business Operations, set technical standards across the team, and engage with multiple development teams sitting in different service stacks to align delivery and design.\nWHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR\nOwn the technical design and architecture for assigned areas of the platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.\n\nLead, mentor, and grow a team of DMS Change developers - providing technical guidance, conducting design/code reviews, and setting engineering best practices.\n\nGrasp the concepts of the system via design documents and drive the team to speed on ongoing SaaS efforts; act as the technical escalation point for the team.\n\nSupport and guide Data Advisory, DMS Operations and QA team members in understanding platform capabilities and constraints, acting as the primary technical point of contact across multiple stacks.\n\nCommunicate priorities, negotiate trade-offs, and align work items assigned to the team with business and program objectives.\n\nDrive advanced debugging and root-cause analysis to resolve complex issues in SIT, UAT and PROD environments, and coach others in doing the same.\n\nChampion the creation of tools and automation that reduce effort and time spent on repeated activities, and showcase these to a wider audience across teams.\n\nBring enterprise-level software leadership experience to the table, driving optimizations, streamlining, and modernization of processes and systems.\n\nOwn the team's testing strategy in partnership with QA - ensuring strong test coverage, promoting TDD/BDD practices, and supporting testers on technical queries.\n\nLead RCA and retrospective meetings with a strong sense of ownership, drive continuous improvement actions to closure, and foster a culture open to feedback.\n\nContribute to hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback for team members.\n\nWHAT WE VALUE\nThe expectations of a lead software test engineer's behavioural skills are centred around an agile mindset of leading and working in teams. Business knowledge requirements vary across business units but are overall within the financial sector. In SimCorp, we use several coding languages and technical domains, so the concrete skills here also vary across the organization.\nMust have\n10+ years of experience using .NET technologies with an emphasis on C#, Microsoft .NET Framework including WPF, WWF, and WCF.\n\nDemonstrated experience leading or mentoring a team of developers, including code/design reviews and technical decision-making.\n\nExperience with multi-threaded / performance intensive applications.\n\nDeep understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design and development.\n\nStrong Analysis, Design, and Development skills with the ability to set technical direction for others.\n\nFamiliarity with source control systems (Git/TFS) and continuous build/CI practices.\n\nStrong experience in RDBMS (Oracle/MSSQL).\n\nStrong communication skills, including the ability to represent the team in cross-functional and stakeholder discussions.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex, ambiguous technical issues.\n\nSolid knowledge of Web API, .NET Core, Microservices, Docker, or container-based applications.\n\nExperience with cloud-based applications.\n\nExperience driving Agile methodologies within a team.\n\nWorking knowledge of TDD/BDD, with experience championing adoption across a team.\n\nExperience in the Capital Markets domain is a plus - preferably with buy-side firms.\n\nGood to have\nAI Certifications\n\nCapital Markets domain knowledge, preferably with BUY SIDE firms and experience.\n\nExperience working with Reference Data Management setup and understanding of various asset classes (Equity, Derivatives, and Fixed Income, etc.) and Market data feeds (Reuters, Bloomberg, MarkIT, etc.).\n\nPrior formal people-management or team-lead experience.\nBENEFITS\nGlobal hybrid work policy - We ask you to work 2 days a week from the office.
