It is essential.\nWhy This Role is Important to Us\nWe are looking for Software Engineers at middle level to join our engineering team that builds fintech solutions for managing OTC (Over-The-Counter) financial instruments within our asset management platform, SimCorp Dimension and SimCorp One. Our work delivers value in two major areas. First, we implement new features that drive the business forward and shape the future of our platform. Second, we focus on extending and maintaining our established solutions to ensure our clients’ operations remain uninterrupted and always available.\nWhat You Will Be Responsible For\nDesigning, building, and extending existing solutions and APIs for our OTC asset management product, delivering value to customers incrementally. \nWorking primarily in C#. Our codebase also includes OCaml and APL therefore prior experience with these languages is a strong plus. \nUnderstanding, refactoring and modernizing our legacy codebase without disrupting the business it supports. \nFocusing on the systems as a whole and being able address fundamental changes that improves the quality, performance and user experience. \nCollaborating closely with your product owner to refine requirements, clarify business needs, and shape how features get built. \nWorking as part of a team of skilled engineers - pairing, reviewing code, and sharing ownership of the solution with fellow engineers. \nFollowing good engineering practice: clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD. \nBuilding, extending and consuming REST APIs. \nCommunicating clearly with both technical and business stakeholders. \nContinuously learning - and helping the team and product grow with you. \nRequired Skills & Experience\nInterest in creating innovative features for a complex platform, working on areas such as API scalability, automation, performance, and operational resilience - having space to explore, design and influence the final solution. \nGood C# skills. This is the core language for the role; your level of seniority will determine how much ownership and architectural input you're expected to bring. \nExperience with, or genuine interest in, functional programming. Familiarity with OCaml, APL, F#, Standard ML, Scala or Haskell is a real advantage but not required - a willingness to learn is what matters most. \nExperience (or strong interest) in refactoring existing code and working with legacy systems. \nGood collaboration and communication skills, with fluency in English (written and spoken). \nA relevant degree (Computer Science or STEM) with demonstrated hands-on experience in software engineering. \nFurthermore, We Value That You Are:\nmotivated to work within the financial domain, \ncomfortable working closely with a cross-functional team, \nwilling to learn and pick up new languages and paradigms as needed, \nable to identify tech debt and help drive incremental improvement, \na collaborative person willing to share knowledge and learn from your team members. \nOur Team and Ways of Working\nWe deliver solution for large scale financial institutions with billions of dollars in managed assets.
