SimCorp is a Danish financial software company founded in Copenhagen in 1971 that supplies the investment management system used by asset managers, pension funds, insurers and sovereign wealth funds. Its Dimension platform runs the front-to-back workflow of an investment institution in a single data model, covering portfolio management, order execution, risk, performance measurement, accounting and regulatory reporting, so that positions do not have to be reconciled between separate systems. The company was acquired by Deutsche Börse in 2023 and continues to operate from Copenhagen with offices across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

Technical Product Owner - AI Agent

About the role

Are you a product owner with a strong technical backbone, ready to shape an AI agent that changes how a global fintech builds software? At SimCorp, we are developing an internal AI agent that supports the software development lifecycle (SDLC) - helping engineers investigate code, analyze CI failures, review pull requests, work with backlog items, and automate recurring tasks through secure integrations with most of our internal engineering systems.

As Technical Product Owner, you will combine traditional Product Owner responsibilities with a strong focus on technical feasibility, architecture, integrations, and engineering alignment. You will maximize the value the agent delivers to its users - SimCorp's own engineers - while ensuring that solutions are technically sound, architecturally aligned, and that the team can deliver efficiently. You will collaborate with a system architect/Tech lead, supporting the team end to end: from discovery and prioritization through refinement, implementation, and acceptance.

WHAT MAKES US, US

Join some of the most innovative thinkers in FinTech as we lead the evolution of financial technology. If you are an innovative, curious, collaborative person who embraces challenges and wants to grow, learn and pursue outcomes with our prestigious financial clients, say Hello to SimCorp!

At its foundation, SimCorp is guided by our values - Caring, Customer success-driven, Collaborative, Curious, and Courageous. Our people-centered organization focuses on skills development, relationship building, and client success. We take pride in cultivating an environment where all team members can grow, feel heard, valued, and empowered.

If you like what we’re saying, keep reading!

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

At SimCorp we sincerely believe our employees are our greatest asset - and we treat them accordingly. As a SimCorp'er you will work with highly skilled and supportive colleagues from more than 52 nationalities across 20+ international offices. You will experience an organization that welcomes people of all views and backgrounds and provides countless ways to grow and develop. You will share our pursuit for innovation and knowledge, and your contributions will help shape the future of financial technology. What better place to build a rewarding career?

On top of that, in this role you will:

  • Own the product direction of one of the most ambitious internal AI initiatives in enterprise fintech.
  • Shape how a global fintech applies AI across its software development lifecycle.
  • Work at the intersection of product, architecture, and AI engineering with a highly skilled cross-functional team.
  • Directly improve the daily work of hundreds of engineers in a global fintech leader trusted by the world's top investment firms.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

As a Technical Product Owner, you will:

Business value

  • Translate the needs of users and stakeholders into clear, implementable features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, maximizing the value the agent delivers across the software development lifecycle.
  • Support the team during refinement, planning, implementation, and feature acceptance.
  • Clarify requirements early and challenge assumptions to improve both business and technical quality.
  • Validate and test delivered stories and features, ensuring they meet user needs and quality expectations.
  • Measure adoption, usefulness, and impact of the agent's capabilities, and steer priorities based on data and user feedback.

Technical quality

  • Work closely with architects and tech leads to ensure solutions align with the target architecture and long-term product vision.
  • Make technical constraints, architectural decisions, and non-functional requirements - security, reliability, cost, and safety of agent actions - visible in prioritization decisions.
  • Evaluate the technical implications, dependencies, risks, and implementation options for new capabilities and integrations.
  • Balance feature delivery with maintainability, scalability, and technical-debt reduction.

Capability development and teams' growth

  • Champion the use of AI across engineering teams to accelerate delivery and improve quality and operational efficiency.
  • Accelerate the onboarding and growth of team members through coaching and hands-on guidance.
  • Spread knowledge of the agent's capabilities across the organization and drive adoption.

Management and stakeholder alignment

  • Partner with engineering and product management leadership on backlog, capacity, dependencies, quality signals, and delivery risks.
  • Act as the bridge between product management, engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor senior and lead engineers, QA engineers, and product owners, and serve as a subject-matter expert for the agent's capabilities and workflows.

WHAT WE VALUE

Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. We expect you to be strong in several of the following and interested in learning the rest:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years in software product development, including hands-on experience as a software engineer and several years as a (Technical) Product Owner, Product Manager, or Tech Lead.
  • A genuine engineering background: able to discuss architecture, APIs, integrations, and non-functional requirements with engineers and architects as a peer.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and engineering tooling: source control, CI/CD, work-item tracking, code review, testing, and release management.
  • Working knowledge of AI/LLM products: agent capabilities, tool calling, prompt behavior, and the practical limits of current models.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex in daily work.
  • Familiarity with open-source agents (e.g., OpenCode, Hermes, OpenClaw, or similar) and the fast-moving agent ecosystem.
  • Passion for the AI space and the flexibility to embrace new technologies: you stay on top of market trends and translate the ecosystem's best practices - better memory, context management, and agent autonomy - into product priorities.
  • Proven ability to write crisp user stories and acceptance criteria for complex technical features.
  • Data-driven prioritization: adoption metrics, user feedback loops, and impact measurement.
  • Experience with Agile development and distributed international teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication, with the ability to align engineering, architecture, and business perspectives.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
