You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-performance electronic systems, driving innovation and contributing to the successful development of next-generation products.\nPosition Type: Fulltime\nRemote Opportunity: No\nReport To: Lead Electro-Optical & Electronic Engineer\nLocation: Somerset West, South Africa\nJob Purpose:\nDesign, develop, and optimize electronic hardware systems for earth observation applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and Development:\nDesign, simulate, and develop electronic hardware systems for space applications, including PCB design and routing.\nCreate and optimize electronic circuits and components to meet the specific requirements of space missions.\nDevelop circuitry that accurately interfaces with diverse sensor types-such as multi-spectral and hyperspectral imagers, thermal sensors, and radar systems-ensuring optimal conditioning, filtering, and amplification.\nProject Management\nWork closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and systems engineers, to ensure cohesive system integration.\nParticipate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to support project goals\nIntegration and Testing:\nIntegrate electronic hardware with other system components, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.\nConduct rigorous testing and validation of electronic systems to ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-704). \nTroubleshooting and Maintenance:\nStay updated with the latest advancements in electronic hardware technologies and apply this knowledge to improve existing systems.\nPropose and implement innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and performance of electronic hardware.\nDocumentation:\nMaintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, test results, and system performance for future reference and compliance.\nPrepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress to stakeholders.\nCompliance and Standards:\nEnsure all electronic hardware designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.\nConduct safety and quality assessments to ensure hardware systems meet the stringent demands of space applications.\nInnovation and Learning\nStay updated with the latest advancements in electronic hardware technologies and apply this knowledge to improve existing systems.\nPropose and implement innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and performance of electronic hardware.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s honors Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field\nRequired Experience:\nA minimum of 3 -
