This entry-level role involves assisting in the design, development, integration, and maintenance of simulation systems used for training, analysis, and decision support in defense environments. The candidate will work closely with experienced team members to develop foundational skills in software engineering while gaining exposure to military systems, simulation standards, and real-time/constructive simulations.\nThe candidate performs the following specific assignments:\nAssists in developing simulation software for military training and analysis under senior supervision\nSupports software development efforts using established coding standards and best practices\nLearns and applies simulation frameworks such as HLA (High-Level Architecture) and DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation)\nContributes to the development of simulation scenarios, models, and system behaviors\nParticipates in software testing and quality assurance activities\nAssists with integrating models and simulations with C4ISR systems and external interfaces\nSupports technical documentation efforts including design specifications and test plans\nCollaborates with team members to translate basic military requirements into software components\nParticipates in code reviews and learns from senior developers\nMaintains version control practices and follows configuration management procedures\nAssists with compliance with software development standards and security guidelines\n Experience Required:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field\n1-3 years of software development experience (internships and academic projects count)\nBasic proficiency in one or more programming languages: C++, C#, Java, or Python\nUnderstanding of fundamental software engineering principles\n Experience Desired:Academic coursework or projects related to modeling and simulation\nUnderstanding of software engineering best practices including Agile/Scrum methodologies\nExposure to simulation frameworks such as HLA, DIS or similar M&S tools\nBasic understanding of version control systems (Git)\nInterest in military
