We maintain a well-controlled environment that supports corporate governance, financial reporting, and disclosure requirements, and we partner closely with Finance, People, Legal, Product, and Engineering to advise on the accounting treatment of new business initiatives. We operate in a fast-paced environment and work cross-functionally on a daily basis.\nIn this role, you'll own key accounting areas and processes that support the recognition and reporting of our financial results. You'll partner with stakeholders across Finance, People, Legal, Product, and Engineering to understand and advise on the accounting treatment of business initiatives and transactions. You'll take ownership of balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations, support internal and external reporting, and help implement and maintain effective controls as we scale.\nResponsibilities\nPlan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and internal management reporting\nResearch and document technical accounting positions for new accounting pronouncements and business initiatives\nDraft and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation\nAnalyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide clear variance explanations to key stakeholders\nSupport the design, implementation, and execution of internal control procedures\nHelp build scalable accounting processes to support company growth, including identifying opportunities for automation\nPartner with Product, Systems, Treasury, Tax, People, and Legal on financial systems and process improvements\nSupport external audit requests and provide supporting schedules and analysis as needed\nDesired Skills & Experience\n4+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience, with a B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)\nStrong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to research and document complex accounting topics\nExperience with internal controls, including design, implementation, and execution\nStrong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to partner with and influence cross-functional stakeholders\nA track record of delivering on challenging projects independently, with a solution-oriented mindset\nBonus Points\nExperience in SaaS, healthtech, or a subscription-based business\nExperience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems\nSQL experience\nBenefits\nWe offer a competitive benefits program including:\nMedical, dental, vision, life & disability insurance\n401(k) plan with company match \nFlexible Time Off (FTO), wellbeing days, paid holidays, and summer Fridays\nMental health resources\nPaid parental leave & Backup Care\nTuition reimbursement\nEmployee Resource Groups (ERGs)\nCalifornia Job Applicant Privacy Notice\nThank you for your interest in opportunities at SimplePractice LLC (“SimplePractice” or “us” or “we” or “our”).
