{"id":1450060,"url":"https://alion.io/job/simplify-hr-proprietary-limited-electrician","title":"Electrician","company":{"id":1891733,"name":"Simplify HR","domain":"simplify.hr","url":"https://alion.io/company/simplify-hr","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":null,"truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":75,"open_postings":423,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":33,"computed_at":"2026-10-25T05:49:26Z"}},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":"middle","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Namibia"],"countries":["NA"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":9500,"max_usd":21000,"period":"year","method":"global_role_cell_scaled_by_country","sample_n":6390},"experience_years_min":3,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-18T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-24","last_verified_at":"2026-09-29T13:23:43Z","board_verified":false,"closed_at":null,"days_open":37,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":37},"description":"VACANCY: ELECTRICIAN\nDUTY STATION: OTJIWARONGO\nPATTERSON GRADE: C3\nPURPOSE:\nTo operate, maintain, install and modify all electrical apparatus in designated areas in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with applicable regulations, standards and set procedures, to achieve optimum equipment availability and quality service delivery. \nKEY PERFORMANCE AREAS, AMONG OTHERS:\nEnsure adequate care and correct use of tools in the section and maintain workshop equipment where necessary.\nEnsures that the supervisor is kept informed of all work performed in the section by reporting on work orders/request, possible causes, estimated life span of components/parts, spares used, time taken and recommendations to improve efficiency.\nPlan and request in writing for an adequate supply of materials, spares and component for use in the section.\nDo disconnections and re-connections of existing services.\nSuspension of services due to non-payments.\nMonitor and report deviations of power supply conditions.\nInspect new and existing customer installations in line with SANS 10142 as amended.\nCarry out operating i.e switching, disconnection and making safe according to procedures and regulations in line with experience and authorization.\nResponsible for all cable work on existing distribution network, urban and suburban high/low tension overhead lines, transformers and main distribution switchboard metering kiosk & pillars, panels and link frames.\nPerform ongoing diagnosis, fault-finding and running inspections on all equipment and structures within the section’s jurisdiction.\nMaintenance on substations/mini sub equipment, terrain, urban and sub urban high/low tension overheads lines, robot units, streetlights and high masts.\nDo emergency repairs required to maintain or restore supply to customers.\nReact promptly to all reported electrical breakdowns.\nAll work related to servicing new extensions according to the electrical site plan.\nDo house connections and relevant meter installations on new dwellings\nEnsure that construction work in the area is carried out in a safe manner.\nInstall, test and commission all types of meters.\nDo all tariffs circuit breaker changes. \nMaintain safety standards (loss control), environmental, good housekeeping and hygiene standards in all areas of responsibility by conducting regular checks and taking corrective action where necessary and/or reporting the incident to the supervisor.\nResponsible for the electrical assistants and electrical labourer, including attending to their queries and work-related problems.\nPerforms any tasks as may be directed by the Superintendent from time to time.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nLevel 3-trade diploma/test with corresponding full apprenticeship-heavy current.\nThree years practical experience after completion of diploma.\nMust be skilled for 400V 3 phase distribution systems maintenance, operation and construction.\nExperience in medium voltage (11kV to 33kV) and must be substantiated.\nCode B Drivers licence.
