Scope: Mining Operations, Processing Plants, Health Services, Safety Systems and Laboratory environments\nPurpose of the role:\nThe Portfolio Manager is accountable for the strategic, financial and delivery oversight of a complex portfolio of initiatives spanning Mining Operations, Mineral Processing, Health, Safety And Laboratory Environments.\nThe role ensures that programmes and projects across the portfolio are prioritised, governed and delivered in alignment with organisational strategy, regulatory obligations, safety imperatives and operational value.\nProvide senior-level leadership across multiple programmes, manage interdependencies between IT, operations and business functions, and ensures benefits realisation across safety-critical and operationally intensive environments.\nThe role has authority over day-to-day portfolio governance, financial control, risk management and performance reporting.\nQualifications and experience requirements:\nDegree/Diploma in Information Systems, Engineering, Mining, Industrial Engineering or related field.\nPostgraduate qualification in Project, Programme or Portfolio Management (PMP, PgMP, MSP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).\n10 years’ experience managing large-scale programmes or portfolios in mining, processing, industrial or safety-critical environments.\nProven experience managing complex, multi-site portfolios with strong operational and regulatory constraints.\nSound understanding of the mining value chain, processing operations and supporting health, safety and laboratory functions.\nDeep knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, hybrid models).\nAdvantageous systems knowledge: \nPortfolio and project management tools (e.g. SAP PPM, MS Project).\nEnterprise collaboration platforms (SharePoint, Microsoft 365).\nExperience working with ERP, MES, safety management and laboratory information systems (LIMS).\nKey accountabilities:\nPortfolio Leadership and Strategy\nOwn and manage a portfolio of programmes and projects across Mining, Processing,\nHealth, Safety and Laboratory domains, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives.\nPrioritise initiatives based on operational impact, regulatory risk, safety outcomes, resource availability and return on investment.\nEnsure the portfolio delivers measurable business, operational and safety benefits as\ndefined in approved business cases.\nFinancial and Resource Management:\nOwn portfolio financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and benefits tracking.\nOptimise utilisation of internal teams, external vendors and specialist contractors across the portfolio.\nApprove and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) and commercial arrangements with vendors and partners.\nSkills and competencies: \nStrong executive leadership, influencing and negotiation skills.\nHigh level of financial and commercial acumen.\nExcellent stakeholder engagement across operational, technical and executive audiences.\nAbility to operate confidently in safety-critical, regulated environments.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability.\nChange management and organisational transformation experience.\nAdvanced communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).\nWorking conditions:\nHybrid working model with regular travel to mining operations, processing plants, health facilities and laboratories.\nAbility to operate on-site in industrial and safety-sensitive
