print manufacturing environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintenance Strategy & Uptime\nDevelop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans.\nMonitor machine performance, downtime trends, and implement root cause analysis.\nMaintain spare parts plans and critical stock strategy.\nMachinery & Technical Support\nProvide hands-on support for breakdowns and urgent technical issues.\nMaintain and optimise all presses, finishing lines and auxiliary equipment and systems\nAsset Lifecycle & Capex\nManage equipment installations, upgrades, relocations, and commissioning.\nSupport evaluation of machinery upgrades vs refurbishment vs replacement.\nWork with Group Engineering on major Capex projects.\nCompliance, Safety & Standards\nEnsure compliance with:Occupational Health & Safety Act\nSANS electrical & safety standards\nFire prevention and machinery guarding\n\nMaintain service records and statutory inspections (boilers, lifts, pressure vessels, etc.).\nParticipate in internal/external safety and engineering audits.\nManage lock-out procedures, risk assessments, and environmental controls.\nIncumbent will be required to be appointed as a GMR2.\nTeam Management & Skills Development\nLead and coach artisans, technicians, and apprentices.\nManage shift maintenance responsiveness.\nPromote continuous improvement culture (Lean, TPM, 5S).\nCost & Resource Management\nDrive cost reduction across:Energy and utilities\nSpares consumption\nContractor usage\n\nManage maintenance budget & suppliers.\nCollaboration\nWork closely with:General Managers\nProduction Managers\nQuality & SHE\nPlanning and Procurement\n\nContribute to operational meetings with data-driven insights.\nQualifications & Experience\nNational Diploma or BTech / Degree in Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering\n5-10+ years engineering maintenance experience in high-speed manufacturing\nPreferably from printing, packaging, FMCG, or equivalent automated production environment\nStrong understanding of Occupational Health & Safety\n TechnicalStrong understanding of lithographic and finishing equipment\nDiagnostics and automation exposure (PLC, drives)\nMechanical/electrical troubleshooting\nReading technical drawings and machine manuals\n\nLeadershipPeople management and coaching capability\nStrong planning and
