reflects the modern Quality Engineering model, where engineers embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle through continuous testing, observability, automation, and measurable delivery outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities\nTest Automation EngineeringDesign, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites across UI, API, and messaging layers.\nBuild UI automation using preferably Playwright, leveraging advanced debugging capabilities in the tool.\nImplement UI automation where required using Selenium or Opentext UFT for legacy systems or compatibility requirements.\nDevelop API automation suites using Karate to enable:\nReadable and maintainable API tests\nParallel execution\nMock service capabilities\nUse API testing tools such as SoapUI and Postman for exploratory testing, debugging, and service validation.\nMaintain automated regression suites covering critical payment processing scenarios.\n\nPayments & Transaction Processing TestingValidate end-to-end card transaction lifecycles, including:\nAuthorization requests and responses\nReversals\nSettlement scenarios\nNetwork response codes\nPerform detailed validation of ISO 8583 messages, including:\nMessage types (MTI)\nField-level validations\nMessage transformations\nResponse code behaviour\nTest transaction routing and switching logic across the payments ecosystem.\nSupport testing of ATM, POS, eCommerce transactions.\nValidate integrations between:Payment switches\nCard schemes\nCore banking systems\nPayment gateways\n\nFraud and risk systems.\n\nISO 8583 Simulation & Payment Network TestingUse ISO 8583 simulators to simulate payment network behaviour and test transaction flows.\nWork with Mastercard MAS (Mastercard Authorization Simulator) to validate authorization scenarios and scheme interactions.\nUtilize Astrex tooling to simulate and test ISO 8583 messaging and transaction flows as part of Quality Engineering workflows.\nBuild test scenarios that simulate:Host responses\nNetwork behaviour\nFailure and timeout conditions\nTransaction retries and reversals\nValidate switching behaviour across both legacy infrastructure and modern SmartVista architecture.\n\nCI/CD Integration & Continuous TestingIntegrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Harness.\nImplement automated quality gates that validate builds and prevent defective releases.\nEnable continuous testing practices across build, integration, and deployment pipelines.\nEnsure automation supports parallel execution and rapid feedback cycles.\n\nProduction Monitoring & ObservabilityApply a production-quality mindset by monitoring system behaviour post-deployment.\nUse monitoring and alerting platforms such as Zabbix to track:Transaction success rates\nSystem latency\nAuthorization failures\nInfrastructure health\nCorrelate production incidents and monitoring signals with testing gaps to improve automated coverage.\n\nQuality Strategy & Engineering EnablementContribute to the development of test strategies, automation frameworks, and quality standards across teams.\nPromote shift-left testing practices, ensuring testability is considered during design and development.\nSupport shift-right practices by integrating production insights into test strategies.\nHelp improve automation adoption and quality engineering maturity across delivery teams.\n\nEngineering Metrics & Continuous ImprovementSupport teams in tracking engineering delivery performance metrics, including:Deployment
