This role partners with business and finance leaders to deliver actionable insights, improve financial transparency, support performance management, and enable informed operational and strategic decisions. The Senior Analyst coordinates planning processes, evaluates business performance, develops financial models, and identifies risks and opportunities that may affect profitability, efficiency, and strategic execution. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability, business acumen, communication skills, and the ability to independently translate complex financial and operational information into clear recommendations.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Planning and Forecasting\nSupport the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for Simplot AgriBusiness Retail.\nCoordinate planning inputs across business units and functions to support consistency, accuracy, and alignment with strategic objectives.\nDevelop and maintain financial models used to forecast revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, cash flow, and other key financial metrics.\nPerform scenario and sensitivity analysis to evaluate key assumptions, business risks, and opportunities.\nConsolidate forecasts and plans and communicate significant changes, drivers, and implications to finance and business leaders.\nBusiness Partnership and Decision Support\nServe as a finance partner to business leaders by providing financial guidance and analytical support for operational and strategic decisions.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to evaluate business initiatives, investments, and performance improvement opportunities.\nTranslate complex financial and operational data into meaningful insights and practical recommendations.\nChallenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and help leaders understand the financial implications of business decisions.\nBuild effective working relationships across Finance, Operations, Commercial, Human Resources, Technology, and other support functions.\nPerformance Management and Reporting\nPrepare monthly and quarterly financial performance reporting and management review materials.\nAnalyze actual results against budget, forecast, prior year, and strategic targets and provide clear explanations of key variances.\nMonitor key business drivers and performance indicators and identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.\nDevelop dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility into financial and operational performance.\nPresent findings and recommendations to finance and business leadership teams.\nFinancial Modeling and Strategic Analysis\nDevelop financial models supporting business cases, investment decisions, pricing initiatives, workforce planning, and strategic projects.\nEvaluate the financial impacts of business initiatives through quantitative analysis and scenario modeling.\nSupport productivity analysis, cost optimization, and other efforts to improve business performance.\nConduct ad hoc analyses to support executive decision-making and strategic priorities. \nProcess Improvement and Analytics\nIdentify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate financial planning, reporting, and analytical processes.\nEnhance reporting capabilities through improved data analytics and visualization tools.\nPartner with Technology and Data teams to improve data quality, accessibility, governance, and reporting efficiency.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives across the FP&A organization.\nTypical Education\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.\nRelevant Experience\nStrong financial modeling, forecasting, analytical, and quantitative problem-solving skills.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with financial planning, reporting, or business intelligence tools.\nExperience with SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Power Query, or similar platforms preferred.\nStrong understanding of financial statements and the relationship between financial results and operational business drivers.Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to finance and non-financial audiences.\nStrong collaboration, influencing, organizational, and presentation skills.\nFive or more years of related experience in financial planning and analysis, financial analysis, business partnering, corporate finance, accounting, or a related analytical finance role.\n\nJob Requisition ID: 27288\nTravel Required: Less than 10%\nLocation(s): Simplot Headquarters - Boise\nCountry: United States\n**The Simplot Company is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, marital status, or any other protected status.\nIf the Simplot Company decides to offer you this position, such offer will be conditioned on your satisfactory completion of a post-offer criminal background check.
