Key Responsibilities
As a Tax intern in Simplot's Tax Department, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing sales/use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions across the US.
- Compilation of information to support sales tax audits.
- Assisting with tax research and documenting findings.
- Monitor and record property tax bills and assessments using tax technology.
- Assist with income tax research and special projects.
- Assist international GST/PST filing.
Typical Education
- Must be pursuing a BA/BS or MS in Accounting or Tax.
- Must be a full-time student.
Relevant Experience
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- Strong software skills; specifically, with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent communications skills; both verbal and written.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- An interest in an indirect tax career
- Flexibility with the work schedule, particularly in the school year.
- It is preferred that the candidate be available for 6 months and be:
- Early Junior status within the undergraduate accounting program; or
- Early Senior status also committed to the Master of Tax graduate program
