Whether you're passionate about media technology, data engineering, or product innovation, Simply.TV is the place to shape the future of TV - and have fun doing it.\n\nFor candidates based in Mexico!\nAs a Streaming Data & Operations Analyst, you will take ownership of technical and data-related issues affecting Simply.TV’s streaming services - from initial investigation through resolution.\nThis is an analytical and technically hands-on role for someone with a strong academic background in Computer Science, Data, or a closely related field, solid Python skills, and the ability to use AI tools and effective prompting as part of their problem-solving workflow.\nYou will investigate why streaming catalogs, feeds, or data processes are not working as expected, identify root causes, resolve issues where possible, and escalate more complex problems with a clear technical diagnosis.\nYou will work closely with Streaming, Development, Operations, and other technical teams while also communicating directly with clients when needed. This means you should be equally comfortable diving into data and technical problems as you are explaining your findings clearly to others.\nThis is not a traditional support role. We are looking for someone who is analytical, curious, technically confident, and able to take ownership of problems rather than simply follow established runbooks.\nResponsibilities\nTake ownership of streaming data issues from initial investigation through resolution.\nInvestigate incorrect catalogs, feeds, data anomalies, failed processes, and other streaming-related issues.\nIdentify root causes by analysing data, system behaviour, logs, feeds, and technical workflows.\nUse Python to investigate, validate, manipulate, or troubleshoot data and technical processes.\nResolve issues independently where possible or escalate them to Development or other technical teams with a clear diagnosis and supporting information.\nWork with structured data, APIs, logs, feeds, internal systems, and other technical sources.\nUse AI tools and effective prompting to support analysis, investigation, troubleshooting, and productivity.\nCommunicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nCommunicate directly with clients regarding streaming-data issues, investigations, and resolutions.\nCollaborate with Development, Operations, and Streaming teams to improve workflows and prevent recurring issues.\nManage multiple investigations and priorities while meeting deadlines and SLA requirements.\nDocument findings, solutions, and recurring problems to improve team knowledge and processes.\nContinuously develop your understanding of Simply.TV’s streaming products, data architecture, and technical workflows.\nPracticalities\nReports to: Head of Streaming\nEmployment Type: Full-time contractor\nLocation: Mexico\nWorking Hours: 40 hours per week\nRequirements\nMust-haves\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, IT, or a closely related technical field.\nSolid practical Python skills and confidence using Python for data analysis, investigation, automation, or troubleshooting.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate an issue and identify its root cause.\nGood understanding of data structures, technical systems, and how data moves between different systems or processes.\nExperience using AI tools effectively, including strong prompting skills for research, analysis, troubleshooting, or productivity.\nAbility to work independently on technical problems and take ownership from investigation through resolution.\nAbility to understand technical information and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nStrong written and spoken English.\nConfidence communicating directly with clients.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple investigations or priorities simultaneously.\nHigh attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.\nProactive, curious, and comfortable exploring unfamiliar technical problems.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.\nNice-to-haves\nPrevious experience in data analytics, data operations, technical support, technical operations, QA, or a similar analytical role.\nExperience working with APIs, JSON/XML, databases, SQL, logs, scripting, or data pipelines.\nExperience with streaming technologies, OTT platforms, broadcasting, media technology, metadata, or digital content.\nPrevious experience working with client-facing technical issues.\nExperience using Python for automation or building small internal tools.\nFamiliarity with debugging technical workflows and identifying issues across multiple systems.\nPrevious experience in an international or cross-functional environment.\nPrevious experience in television or streaming is helpful but not required.
