In this role, you’ll help ensure that SGH is compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws, including requirements related to federal contractors.\nYou’ll work closely with SGH legal, engineering, and marketing staff to support project needs and keep our internal processes up to date. This is a great opportunity for someone who has the experience and passion to specialize in compliance.\nThis position will report to the HR Operations Manager and will work within a collective HR Department of 16 colleagues, and directly within the HR Operations team of 3.\nLocation: Waltham, MA. The position initially requires the individual to work fully in the office, with eligibility to transition to a hybrid schedule. A hybrid schedule requires Monday and Wednesdays in the office, and the option for the remaining days to be worked remotely from home.\nWhat You’ll be doing:\nSupport the HR Operations Manager related to compliance with federal, state, local and federal contractor requirements.\nDraft new or updated policies for our Employee Handbook related to new or changed employment laws.\nLiaison with the Director of HR, HR Operations Manager, and Talent Development staff regarding compliance with state or local anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training requirements, including training communications and tracking.\nAudit and review internal processes to ensure compliance with Form I-9 and E-Verify, including monitoring SGH’s electronic I-9 platform.\nManage ongoing communication with employees related to employment notices.\nMaintain and manage SGH’s legally required employment postings.\nCollaborate with our HR Operations Associate related to fulfilling external data reporting requirements, including Equal Employment Opportunity, Veteran’s 4212, and CA pay data reporting.\nSupport requests from SGH’s internal departments and engineering teams related to pursuit and project compliance.\nManage ongoing background and drug and alcohol screening requirements by completing appropriate checks within the noted timeframes.\nCoordinate the annual motor vehicle record check process.\nCoordinate with the HR Operations Associate to update Greenhouse Onboarding with required forms and notices for new hires.\nSupport the HR Operations Manager related to compliance with FLSA and state wage and hour requirements.\nCollaborate with the HR Operations team related to document retention for personnel files and I-9s.\nSupport HR Operations Manager and SGH’s legal team related to data protection and privacy policies and procedures.\nOrganize internal documents/reference materials and tracking sheets to support required compliance items and retention requirements.\nPartner with the HR Benefits team related to HR Operations & Benefits joint policies.\nWhat You’ll Need:\n3 or more years of related experience.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nExperience drafting policies.\nStrong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.\nProactive and collaborative with the ability to independently manage competing priorities and deadlines with a high level of attention to detail.\nEngaged by reviewing laws, policies and procedures and making recommendations.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.\nIntermediate proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.\nExperience with ADP WorkforceNow or another HRIS.\nWorking Conditions:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, mouse, telephone, or writing.
