Headquartered in New York with offices in Beijing, Boston, Brussels, Dallas, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Luxembourg, Palo Alto, San Francisco, São Paulo, Singapore, Tokyo and Washington, D.C., the Firm provides coordinated legal advice and transactional capability to clients around the globe.\nJob Summary & Objectives\nThe Managing Clerk plays a key role in supporting the Managing Attorney in overseeing litigation support, court docketing, and rendering substantive procedural compliance for the Firm.\nThe Managing Clerk will be responsible for leading the Assistant Managing Clerk and Litigation Docket Specialists for the West Coast.\nEssential Job Duties & Responsibilities\nIn partnership with the Managing Attorney, oversee West Coast MCO team members\n\nTrain West Coast MCO staff to provide necessary litigation functions for the Firm\n\nOversee docketing and calendaring activities for West Coast cases, including tracking and inputting legal deadlines from incoming court orders and rules\n\nElectronically file documents in California federal and state courts\n\nReview legal documents for conformity to court rules\n\nProvide expert procedural advice and coordinate court-related services for attorneys and staff across all departments\n\nConduct procedural research in all jurisdictions\n\nSelectively bill time as authorized by the partners\n\nCoordinate service of process, communicate with court clerks, and track updates on docket sheets\n\nConfer with outside vendors for retrieval of legal documents and other court-related services, including obtaining apostilles for international documents\n\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nEducation\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree required\n\nSkills and Experience\nRequired\nSubject matter expertise in California and federal rules of civil procedure\n\nMinimum of 7 years of relevant experience required\n\nAdvanced technical skills including strong proficiency in e-filing systems and docketing databases\n\nDeep understanding of local, state, and federal civil procedure rules\n\nExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills\n\nAbility to effectively communicate orally and in writing with attorneys and staff regarding complex legal procedures\n\nAbility to manage multiple/simultaneous requests, assign priorities and achieve solutions within certain deadlines\n\nDemonstrated team leadership, with the ability to coach and develop junior team members\n\nSalary Information\nCA Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000 at the time of posting.\nThe actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
