This role combines financial analysis, matter budgeting, and direct partner support, and will own and help maintain pricing processes, tools, and databases. The Senior Analyst will support the capture and upkeep of pricing data and insights so they can be leveraged effectively across the firm.\nThis is a collaborative, hands-on role for a commercially minded professional who can balance analytical rigor with strong communication, process management, and strong follow-through.\nJob Duties & Responsibilities\nPricing & Partner Support\nCollaborate with partners to develop and evaluate fee proposals, budgets, and alternative fee arrangements (AFAs).\nIndependently provide financial modeling and analysis to support client negotiations and business development opportunities.\nDraft first-pass fee estimates from selected precedents within familiar practice areas.\nAssist partners in preparing and securing approvals from the firm’s Finance Committee by supplying data-driven insights and business cases.\nPresent findings to the team and explain the analysis behind them; educate and advise partners on pricing trends, client expectations, and firm guidelines.\nFinancial Analysis & Tracking\nBuild and monitor matter budgets, analyze budget to actual variances and drivers of performance, providing updates and insights to partners and leadership.\nTrack fee agreements and matter performance against expectations, highlighting trends and risks.\nPrepare reports and dashboards that present pricing outcomes, client behaviors, and profitability metrics.\nUse AI-assisted analytics to accelerate data pulls, draft estimates, and flag anomalies in routine work.\nProcess Support\nSupport pricing processes and partner requests by producing accurate, timely analyses and work product.\nCoordinate with the Rates & Compliance, Finance, and Client Development and Engagement teams to ensure consistent inputs and high-quality output for partners and practice groups.\nHelp document and follow efficient workflows, ensuring consistency and scalability of pricing support across the firm.\nPricing Tools & Database Support\nOwn recurring data pulls and datasets end to end, and maintain and validate the accuracy of the firm’s pricing databases, tools, and templates.\nEnsure pricing data is captured consistently, enabling robust analysis and reporting.\nPartner with IT and other Finance teams to enhance tools and processes that improve efficiency and client service.\nBuild, test, and maintain AI-enabled pricing workflows, such as automated data pulls, first-draft fee estimates, budget-to-actual variance checks, and anomaly flagging, that other team members can adopt.\nUse Claude and Harvey to analyze and summarize matter data, research precedent matters and engagement terms, draft pricing narratives and proposal content, and prototype analyses and tools, applying prompt design and iteration to produce reliable, repeatable results.\nEvaluate AI outputs for accuracy and fit against source data and pricing expertise, document quality checks and limitations, and ensure compliance with client confidentiality and firm AI policies; pilot new AI use cases and train partners and colleagues on approved tools and workflows.\nBest Practices & Process Improvement\nImprove templates and process steps, record the changes, and support the creation and roll-out of pricing playbooks, guidelines, and templates.\nDrive adoption of consistent approaches to scoping, budgeting, and fee negotiations.\nContribute to firm-wide initiatives that improve value delivery, efficiency, and financial outcomes.\nClient Engagement Support\nPlay an active role in RFPs, client negotiations, and fee discussions.\nProvide strategic support in creating and presenting value-driven, competitive proposals.\nEducation\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.\nSkills & Experience\n4-6 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or related roles within professional services (law firm experience preferred).\nProficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.\nWorking knowledge of financial metrics such as realization, leverage, effective rate, and margin.\nHands-on experience building with generative AI tools, such as Claude and Harvey, including prompt design, workflow automation, and light scripting or low-code tools.\nSound judgment on responsible AI use in a law firm setting, including confidentiality, data privacy, and verification of AI-generated work.\nDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple requests with competing deadlines.\nStrong financial modeling and analytical skills with the ability to utilize tools to compile and analyze data and recommend and/or implement solutions to complex problems.\nSignificant working understanding of alternative fee arrangements and pricing of legal/professional services.\nDemonstrated ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nSelf-directed and proactive capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.\nExperience working with all levels of personnel within law firms and clients.\nExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.\nDemonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and effective negotiation skills.\nProven ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands and priorities.\nOrganized, proactive, and commercially minded with strong attention to detail.\nProficiency in working with structured data and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar) is a plus.\nSalary Information\nNY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $145,000 at the time of posting.\nThe actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
