We are looking for an enterprising System Administrator to develop and implement Windows- and Linux-based engineering solutions within a government software hosting facility. This position requires full-time on-site presence at the NAVAIR base in PAX River, MD.\n** This position is future funded and not expected to begin before September 1, 2026\nClearance\nAn ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Candidates must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after beginning this work. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.\nRequirements\nAt least three years experience performing many of the responsibilities listed in this job requisition.\nExperience with evaluating Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance including performing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning.\nA certification in a Windows or Linux operating environment.\nResponsibilities\nCandidates for this position will:\nProvide engineering solutions for various and unique problem sets and customers in a government software hosting facility.\nDeploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, to include virtual machines and containers.\nPerform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.\nPerform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.\nMaintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.\nManage user accounts and permissions.\nDeploy and maintain software applications.\nTroubleshoot technical issues.\nMaintain documentation to include knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.\nProvide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best-practices.\nSecure information systems and applications to current DoD guidance\nMaintain configuration and security posture of information systems through continuous monitoring and routine security events/reporting.\nParticipate in project planning using Agile methodology.\nProvide networking support to on-premises infrastructure.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nActive Security+ certification\nVMWare\nVirtual Networking\nSystem Backups\nNetworking\nContainers and containerization tools (e.g. Docker)\nActive Directory\nEducation\nBS in a technical discipline preferredCompensation\nCompensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.\nThe projected annual compensation range for this position is $75,000 -$150,000 (USD).
