We are seeking an Information Assurance Specialist / Systems Administrator to support a Navy program in a secure, on-site laboratory environment. This position will focus on systems administration, information assurance, and maintaining secure operations in accordance with NGA (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) requirements.\nThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, cybersecurity practices, and working within classified environments.\nTravel\nnoneClearance\nAn ACTIVE Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain CI Polygraph is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.\nRequirements\nIAT Level II certification in accordance with applicable DoD 8570/8140 requirements.\nHands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Linux operating systems.\n\nKnowledge of Linux system configuration, user management, permissions, and security practices.\n\nUnderstanding of information assurance principles and cybersecurity requirements within DoD environments.\n\nComplete required Navy and NGA training to obtain privileged administrative access.\nStrong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work 100% on-site in Dahlgren, five days per week, in a secure laboratory environment.\n\nResponsibilities\nProvide day-to-day administration, maintenance, and technical support for Linux-based systems.\n\nConfigure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain system performance and security.\n\nManage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and privileged administrative functions.\nIdentify and resolve system issues, security vulnerabilities, and operational concerns.\n\nCollaborate with technical teams to maintain system security, reliability, and operational readiness.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nExperience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or similar Linux distributions.\n\nFamiliarity with Linux command-line utilities, Bash scripting, and system automation.\n\nExperience implementing security configurations, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.\n\nPrevious experience supporting classified Navy, NGA, or DoD systems.\n\nEducation\nA Bachelors Degree in Cybersecurity or STEM discipline is preferred.Compensation\nCompensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.\nThe projected annual compensation range for this position is $75,790 - $133,080 (USD).
