The SE will work on a diverse team with fellow SimVentions’ Systems Engineers and government personnel. The ideal candidate will have experience with MBSE methods and tools, developing system designs and requirements, and participating in working groups and integrated product teams (IPT). The ideal candidate will be able to perform core engineering tasks (develop requirements, define interface updates, update architectural diagrams, etc.). An understanding of MBSE and how to apply its methods and principles to completing engineering tasks is highly desired.\nTravel\nTravel to NSWC Dahlgren Division once every week to two weeks.Clearance\nAn ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.\nRequirements\nMust have US citizenship.\nMust be detail oriented.\nMust be able to learn quickly.\nMust be able to effectively communicate and disseminate information verbally and in writing.\nMust be able to work on a diverse team with other contractors and government personnel.\nResponsibilities\nDetermine impacts on the weapon system, requirements, and other design specifications during engineering development.\nReview, analyze, and create requirements at multiple levels (SSS, SSDD, SRS, HRS) for weapon system capability and functionality.\nDevelop Candidate Change Packages (CCP) to engineer new system capabilities and document design details and impacts in models and engineering documents.\nReview, analyze, and develop system architectures, utilizing modeling tools such as MagicDraw.\nProvide human factors engineering, prototyping, and analysis support for the development and maintenance of the system user interface requirements and specifications (e.g., the Human Computer Interface (HCI) Design Specification).\nReview, analyze, provide inputs, make updates, and adjudicate comments for external interface documents.\nCreate change requests (CR) and resolve CRs related to system problems and/or discrepancies between design documentation and system functionality.\nProvide engineering expertise during IPT meetings, Engineering Review Boards (ERB), Deficiency Review Boards (DRB), Change Review Boards (CRB), and Interface Working Groups (IWG) by performing package development, package review, and comment and documentation of results.\nAttend and actively engage with others at weekly team meetings and other scheduled meetings.\nCommunicate meeting and engineering summaries verbally and in writing, including the ability to provide technical briefs, defend engineering and design decisions, present at meetings, and provide tasking and schedule statuses.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nEngineering experience, especially with DoD programs or weapon systems, in concept definition, architecture development, requirements definition, and initial and detailed system design activities.\nUnderstanding of MBSE and experience applying its methods and principles to completing engineering tasks.\nExperience using Cameo and/or other modeling tools to perform system engineering tasks.\nExperience using Jira to document and track CRs as well as tracking tasks.\nExperience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Word.\nEducation\nA Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.Compensation\nCompensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.\nThe projected annual compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000 (USD).
