KBAK/KBFX seeks a Digital Content Producer to join our team. We are looking for a candidate who is excited about producing news stories on multiple platforms. A successful candidate knows how to use analytics to guide story choices and understands the needs of different platforms. But first, you must know and love NEWS!
Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills; newsroom experience preferred
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Ability to create engaging digital and social media content
- Basic photo editing skills; video production experience a plus
- Strong news judgment and ability to gather information from multiple sources
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable, coachable, and eager to learn
Bachelor's degree required
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, publish, and update digital news content for KBAK/KBFX platforms
- Cover breaking news across web, social media, video, and live platforms
- Monitor news sources to identify and develop timely stories
- Report and produce original local content with compelling headlines
- Collaborate with newsroom teams to coordinate digital coverage
- Enhance stories with multimedia, related content, and audience-focused storytelling
- Create digital first and social media content that drives engagement and traffic
- Ensure website content remains accurate, current, and engaging
- Explore innovative storytelling tools and formats
- Uphold KBAK/KBFX’s editorial and journalistic standards across all platforms
The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.50 to $19.50 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
