This role combines creativity, storytelling, technical production skills, and digital strategy to deliver high-quality content that strengthens brand awareness, engages target audiences, and supports organizational goals.\nThe ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented storyteller who understands digital trends, audience behavior, and platform best practices.\nResponsibilities and Requirements:\nMust have their pulse on the 24/7 news environment\nSolid news judgment\nBe a compelling and accurate writer\nMust be able to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment\nMust have strong leadership and communication skills\nAbility to execute news strategies and goals in daily digital production\nFlexibility and on-the-spot problems solving abilities are a must\nMust be extremely proficient with the use of multiple video-sharing and social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok\nCreative in cross-promotions between on-air and online\nMust be proficient in AP Style\nProficiency with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews is a plus\nListen to scanners and react to breaking news, make beat checks, monitor web sites and social media, react to developing news\nListen for and respond to breaking news\nWilling to work weekends, overnights, and holidays \nRequired skills and qualifications include, but are not limited to:\nCommitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy\nAbility to communicate effectively\nBasic computer knowledge/word processing skills\nGeneral knowledge and interest in local, national, and world news\nAbility to work well under pressure and meet deadlines\nProficiency with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and emerging social media\nA Bachelor’s degree with a major in journalism is also preferred. \nSinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
