The biggest decisions are still open to people who join us now.\n The opportunity\nThe Senior Vice President, Cloud Architecture is a senior technology leadership role responsible for shaping and designing SGX’s cloud architecture strategy, operating model, and technology standards. This leader establishes the architectural foundations that enable secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud platforms across SGX. Operating across mission-critical and regulated environments, the role drives cloud transformation, platform modernisation, architecture governance, and technology innovation while ensuring alignment with enterprise risk, security, resilience, and business objectives.\nWithin SGX's Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE), this leader is accountable for defining cloud strategy, architecture standards, governance frameworks, and target-state technology platforms. The position provides architectural leadership across cloud transformation initiatives and ensures technology investments align with enterprise objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term platform strategy.\nThis is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of cloud technology at SGX and influence the evolution of enterprise platforms that underpin critical market infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence enterprise architecture decisions and build the foundational capabilities that strengthen SGX's resilience, agility, and competitiveness.\nWhat you will do\nEnterprise Cloud Architecture: Establish cloud architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.\nCloud Strategy & Transformation: Define and execute SGX's cloud architecture strategy, roadmap, and adoption framework aligned with enterprise objectives.\nPlatform Engineering: Define strategic direction for cloud platform engineering capabilities, including self-service platforms, developer experience, and platform standardisation.\nCloud Governance & Risk: Establish architecture governance processes ensuring compliance with regulatory, security, resilience, and risk management requirements.\nCloud Security Architecture: Partner with security teams to define cloud security patterns, zero-trust principles, identity architecture, and secure-by-design standards.\nInfrastructure Modernisation: Lead modernisation initiatives across infrastructure, middleware, containers, and cloud-native platforms.\nCloud Cost and Value: Define patterns that leverage cloud cost management, optimisation, and investment governance strategies.\nTechnology Standards: Establish enterprise standards for cloud-native services and architectures, infrastructure as code, observability, resilience engineering.\nArchitecture Review & Assurance: Govern major technology initiatives through architecture review processes and technical design assurance.\nResilience & Availability: Define architecture patterns according to industry best-practices for high availability, disaster recovery, operational resilience, and business continuity requirements.\nLeadership & Mentoring: Develop architecture capability, succession planning, technical leadership, and enterprise architecture communities of practice.\nAgentic AI & Cloud Innovation: Define architectural approaches for AI-native platforms, cloud-based AI services, automation, and emerging technology adoption within a regulated environment.\nPartner closely with business, engineering, infrastructure, security, risk, and operations stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into scalable cloud solutions and business value.\nWhat we are looking for\nEssentials\nExperience: Extensive senior leadership experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering or enterprise technology within large, complex and highly available environments.\nTrack record: Proven track record of establishing engineering standards, leading technical governance and driving platform modernisation and optimisation programmes, using engineering metrics such as reliability, deployment performance and developer productivity to inform decisions.\nTechnical stack: Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms and modern architecture patterns, with strong platform engineering experience across Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and observability at enterprise scale.\nStandards & environment: Sound judgement balancing scale, resilience, security and speed in demanding, regulated, high-availability enterprise settings.\nCommunication & leadership: Strong executive presence and communication skills, with experience shaping investment, vendor and operating model decisions, and a track record of building, mentoring and inspiring high-performing engineering teams including succession planning and leadership development.\nEducation & certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information and Communications Technology, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.\nWhat may set you apart\nDomain Knowledge: Exposure to financial market infrastructure, including securities and derivatives trading, clearing, settlement, market operations, or exchange-related systems.\n About SGX Group\nSGX Group is one of the world's most trusted international marketplaces, known for its stability and openness.
