Network Test & Automation Engineer

The Engineer will execute and support existing/new project assignments covering GPON, Wi-Fi CPEs, IoT, and device-management technologies including but not limited to TR-069, TR-181, and TR-369. In addition, the role will support the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of lab systems infrastructure.

This role focuses more on technical execution and troubleshooting of the above-mentioned requirements without neglecting project management skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Make an impact by:

• Develop scripts and tools using languages and/or automation platforms such as Python, or similar technologies to automate network configuration, test execution, monitoring, data collection and troubleshooting.
• Plan, execute and document testing and validation for GPON, Wi-Fi CPEs and IoT solutions, including functional, interoperability, regression and end-to-end validation as required.
• Develop, execute and maintain test cases covering device-management technologies and data models, including TR-069, TR-181 and TR-369.
• Perform troubleshooting, analysis and diagnostics to enable faster failure root-cause identification and fault isolation, with or without vendor support.
• Develop new test cases to meet new growth requirements and enhance existing test plans and validation coverage.
• Manage and support lab systems infrastructure required for testing, including servers, operating systems, virtual machines, test platforms/tools, network connectivity, user/access administration and related services.
• Perform routine administration, monitoring, maintenance, patching, backup/recovery and troubleshooting of lab systems to maintain availability, stability and security.
• Coordinate with vendor(s) to identify requirements, timelines, dependencies and resources needed for testing improvement, automation and lab infrastructure activities whenever required.
• Document test procedures, infrastructure configurations, processes, solutions and best practices for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Maintain periodic updates on progress, issues, risks and key callouts for immediate discussion and solutioning.
• Manage project timelines and resources to ensure assigned projects and deliverables are completed on time.
• Ensure lab infra compliance with company Group IT, cybersecurity and/or security requirements for all work performed.
• Execute and/or support existing/new test project assignments across GPON, Wi-Fi CPE, IoT and associated device-management platforms.
• Any other tasks assigned by the manager.

Skills for Success:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical field.
• Certification in CCNA and ITIL 4 is preferred.
• Proven experience in GPON/CPE testing in a lab environment.
• Hands-on experience in testing and validation of IoT and CPE/device-management technologies, with knowledge of TR-069, TR-181 and TR-369 strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of lab test tools, lab operations and test equipment.
• Good systems infrastructure management skills for lab environments, including administration and troubleshooting of Firewall, Network Switches, Linux and/or Windows systems, servers, virtual machines, applications/services.
• Strong understanding of IP Networking concepts, protocols and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Familiar with scripting and automation across environments such as Python, Linux shell and Windows-based systems.
• Good project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems across network, test platform and systems infrastructure layers.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation, organizational and analytical skills.
