Singular is backed by Norwest Venture Partners, General Catalyst, Thomvest Ventures, Method Capital, Translink Capital, DCM, and Telstra Ventures.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a strong Data Collection & Integrations Engineer to join the Extract team and help build the infrastructure and integrations that power our data platform.\nIn this role, you will build and maintain integrations that enable Extract to collect, process, and move data across a wide range of external platforms, APIs, databases, and cloud environments.\nYou’ll work on the full integration lifecycle: understanding third-party systems and APIs, designing connectors, implementing authentication and data collection flows, handling schema and API changes, and making sure integrations remain reliable as both customer usage and data volumes grow.\nThis is a highly hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys figuring out how different systems work, dealing with imperfect and constantly changing external APIs, and building robust infrastructure around them.\nYou will work closely with Product and Engineering to expand Extract’s integration ecosystem and help customers connect their data quickly and reliably.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, build, and maintain data collection integrations and connectors with external platforms.\n\nIntegrate with REST, GraphQL, webhook, and other third-party APIs.\n\nBuild scalable data pipelines for collecting, processing, normalizing, and moving large volumes of data.\n\nImplement authentication mechanisms including OAuth, API keys, tokens, and other authorization flows.\n\nHandle real-world integration challenges such as pagination, rate limits, retries, API inconsistencies, schema changes, and data freshness.\n\nBuild infrastructure and reusable frameworks that make it faster and easier to develop new integrations.\n\nMonitor and improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of existing connectors.\n\nInvestigate complex integration and data-quality issues across multiple systems.\n\nWork closely with Product to understand customer data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.\n\nTake ownership of integrations from initial design through production and ongoing maintenance.\n\nWhat You Bring\nThe ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with curiosity about data, APIs, and how different systems communicate.\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience.\n\nComputer Science, Engineering, or related technical degree, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nStrong backend engineering skills and experience building production systems.\n\nStrong experience working with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs.\n\nSolid understanding of web technologies and protocols, including HTTP, OAuth, authentication, cookies, and webhooks.\n\nExperience building or maintaining data pipelines, integrations, connectors, or data ingestion systems.\n\nStrong SQL skills and experience working with structured and semi-structured data.\n\nExperience with Python or another backend programming language.\n\nAbility to independently investigate third-party APIs and turn their documentation and behavior into reliable production integrations.\n\nStrong ownership mentality and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.\n\nAdvantages\nExperience with Rust is a strong advantage.\n\nExperience building ETL/ELT, Reverse ETL, data integration, or data movement products.\n\nExperience working with cloud storage and data platforms across AWS, GCP, or Azure.\n\nExperience integrating with databases, data warehouses, SaaS applications, advertising platforms, or analytics systems.\n\nExperience designing connector frameworks or integration SDKs.\n\nExperience working with high-volume or distributed data systems.\n\nAt Singular, we encourage engineers to develop a deep understanding of our customers and the problems they are solving, rather than simply implementing specifications.
