This is a hands-on bench role for someone who likes taking things apart to find out why they misbehave. You'll work directly with mechanical, electrical, optical, and software engineers, and you'll be the person who finds out what actually happens when all of it is assembled into one box.\nWhat you'll do\nAssemble instruments and subassemblies using hand tools and benchtop equipment\nRun system-level tests and bring-up on new builds\nDesign and write test procedures, then improve them as you learn where they fall short\nAnalyze test data and report what it means, not just what it says\nTroubleshoot failures down to root cause, pulling in the right subject matter expert when a problem crosses into someone else's domain\nDocument test results and write test reports\nWrite assembly and test work instructions clear enough that someone new can follow them\nContribute to risk management: feed real failure modes back into the hazard analysis\nWhat we're looking for\nA technical degree in engineering or a physical science, or equivalent hands-on experience\nSolid troubleshooting instincts: forming a hypothesis, isolating a variable, testing it\nGenuine comfort with hand tools, benchtop instruments, and soldering \nAbility to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings\nClear technical writing. A large part of this job is making your work legible to other people\nData literacy.
