This pivotal role will drive the company’s approach to long term financial planning, capital and liquidity optimization, Group and Investments capital allocation, and portfolio value assessment. The VP of Finance Strategy will work closely with the executive team, P&L leaders, and external stakeholders to ensure that strategic objectives are fully supported by robust financial frameworks, research-driven analysis, and best-in-class project execution. You will report to the Head of Strategic Planning & Financial Analysis.\nThis successful candidate will be a sophisticated and hands-on leader, who is committed to excellence and who will also support and contribute to an environment of continuous improvement. \nYour responsibilities will include:\nLong Term Financial Planning:\nDevelop and update company’s long-term financial plan, ensuring alignment with overall vision, mission, and business objectives.\nCollaborate with the executive team in setting multi-year growth targets and defining the financial roadmap to achieve them.\nModel long-range forecasts and scenario plans, considering evolving business models, market entry or exit strategies, and external factors.\nProvide thought leadership and expertise to challenge assumptions, drive innovation, and ensure sustainable value creation.\nGroup & Investments Portfolio Value Assessment & Target Setting:\nSet clear financial and strategic targets for portfolio businesses, informed by both quantitative analysis and market intelligence.\nDevelop and monitor metrics for portfolio performance, initiating corrective actions where necessary to achieve objectives.\nDrive strategic reviews to maintain alignment of portfolios with changing business priorities and market conditions.\nResearch and Analysis:\nLead and oversee research initiatives on industry trends, macroeconomic factors, and competitive benchmarks to inform financial strategy decisions.\nConduct scenario analyses, sensitivity tests, and what-if modelling to support executive decision-making and strategic planning.\nPrepare insightful reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership and Board of Directors on key financial issues.\nStay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and market developments that could impact the company’s financial position or strategy.\nGroup & Investments Capital Allocation:\nDevelop and lead the capital allocation process, ensuring resources are assigned to initiatives with the highest strategic and financial returns.\nCollaborate with business unit leaders to assess funding needs, prioritize projects, and drive alignment between financial planning and organizational goals.\nReview business cases for major investments, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital expenditures, making recommendations to the executive team and Board.\nMonitor net present value (NPV), return on invested capital (ROIC) and other key performance indicators to assess capital deployment effectiveness.\nProject Implementation and Execution:\nOversee the end-to-end execution of strategic finance projects, from initial conception through to delivery, measurement, and post-implementation review.\nEstablish project governance structures to ensure effective stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and timely delivery of outcomes.\nCoordinate cross-functional teams and lead change management initiatives to embed new financial practices and processes across the organization.\nTrack project KPIs and ensure alignment with expected benefits and strategic goals.\nYour skills and abilities should include:\nBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.\n(Re)insurance industry experience strongly preferred.\nProven track record of developing and implementing successful strategic plans.\nStrong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.\nExcellent leadership and team management abilities.\nExceptional communication and presentation skills.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.\nProficiency in financial software and business intelligence tools.\nWe aim to retain and attract great people, knowing they can achieve a rewarding and enriching career.
