Here, we feel empowered, supported, and inspired to grow.\nAre you ready to love your job?\nThe adventure begins right here, with you, at SITA.\nPURPOSE\nAs a Data Engineer, you will accelerate new airline onboarding by ingesting heterogeneous airline systems and external sources, and turning them into trusted data for OCCam, SITA’s AI-powered Operations Control Center solution that helps airlines manage and recover from operational disruptions.\nYou will be accountable for building a common datalake and canonical data model that the product, Back-End and Science teams can rely on.\nReporting to the Head of Engineering - Disruption Management Solutions (OCCam), you will be part of the OCCam team. We are hiring two Data Engineers to grow the team.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nIngest heterogeneous airline systems and external sources into OCCam's data platform\nBuild a common datalake and canonical data model that the product reads from\nOwn data quality at the pipeline level, including checks, reconciliation and issue investigation\nPartner closely with Back-End and Science teams so product features and algorithms are built on reliable data\nWork on several airline integrations in parallel, accelerating client onboarding and keeping delivery organized and well documented\nMap airline source schemas into a canonical data dictionary and document assumptions clearly\nQualifications\nEXPERIENCE\nYou are proficient in Python and SQL across relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle\nYou have hands-on experience with Airflow and ETL or ELT design\nYou understand datalakes, data modeling and canonical data model design\nYou can work with MSSQL linked servers, schema mapping and source-system reverse engineering\nYou have experience with, or can quickly ramp up on, AWS data services and data-quality frameworks\nYou understand airline operational data such as schedules, crew, assignments and qualifications, or are ready to build that domain knowledge quickly\nYou bring structured problem-solving to messy real-world data and can collaborate in client-facing onboarding situations\nYou have strong documentation discipline and a data-trust mindset\nYou understand the importance of handling personal data, including crew data, under GDPR and client data-privacy requirements\nNICE-TO-HAVE\nExperience with airline operational systems such as Netline, SCHEDOPS, XCREW or similar\nABOUT YOUR SKILLS\nYou possess Airline Operations Management knowledge and understand the operational, commercial, and customer service challenges faced by airlines.\nWHAT WE OFFER\nWe're all about diversity.
