You will also be designing and developing solution architectures to meet business requirements and provide value for money. The ability to be hands-on and support product and project delivery and transition work is important in addition to an architecture and design role.\nAs Solution Engineer Manager you will have the opportunity to be involved in the end-to-end solution process at both the sales and delivery stages of the customer relationship, translating customer aims and requirements into a new solution with agreement through our governance processes.\nReporting to the Solution Engineer Director at SITA At Borders, you will be part of a team challenging the status quo, designing solutions that employ strong architecture frameworks and using technologies such as AI/Machine Learning, Biometrics Matching and Identity Management.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nAs a Manager, Customer Solution Engineering, you will work closely with other members of the Engineering team, supporting, and contributing to all aspects of the role, including:\nDesign/coordinate development of standard and complex solutions which may involve multiple parties both internally and externally including the selection of 3rd party vendors to meet customer requirements.\nSupport account teams or competency centers during the pre-contract phases (qualification proposals and contract) with technical designs and advice.\nProvide the technical qualification and own the technical parts of proposals submitted to customers through knowledge of current new or evolving technologies and SITA solution portfolios.\nPromote SITA by furnishing customers with comprehensive up-to-date information on current products, product enhancements and new solutions through customer meetings and workshops.\nFacilitate designs to be efficiently implemented Right the First Time (RFT) and supported operationally.\nCollaborate with colleague to gain and share ideas and opportunities.\nAccount for designing solutions for large or complex programs in accordance with business strategies, standards, and processes.\nEnsure designs in compliance with Industry standards and architectural plans.\nLead and coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) involved with solution design and subsequent implementation.\nWork with the architects, development, and products engineering teams within the SITA Government business unit to products successful customer designs.\nAssess the viability and value of new technologies and patterns, working to ensure we align with the business’s technical aims for scalability and growth.\nUnderstanding of system security\nQualifications\nABOUT YOUR SKILLS\n 6-8 years of experience in Information Technology, Telecom Industry or Air Transport Industry technology in a technical pre-sales role or lead architect roleBS level Technical Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering Computer Technologies.\nAbility to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues\nExperienced in designing, integrating, and managing software solutions\nHave a background in working in a systems integration industry\nProven track record in producing communicating and documenting successful technical customer solutions\nPre-Sales Business and or Commercial experience is a plus\nHave a very strong solutions & application architecture background, with a very good understanding how it impacts the other IT disciplines.\nA willingness to keep up to date with developments in new technology\nAn understanding of information legislation, such as the Data Protection Act and GDPR.\nAbility to demonstrate an understanding of the end-to-end solution\nDeliver and ensure quality assurance against the design during the project phases.\nStrong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences\nProblem-solving and good analytical skills\nGood organizational skills\nFlexibility and adaptability\nTeam Player and self starter.\n\nNICE-TO-HAVE\nExperience in Aviation and borders industry\nTOGAF certificate\nITIL\nWHAT WE OFFER\nWe're all about diversity.
