This position is designed for individuals who thrive on relationship-building, prospecting, and creating new business opportunities through direct outreach.The role is focused on the front end of the origination process, identifying and qualifying prospective borrowers, developing new relationships, and supporting senior originators through the early stages of transaction execution. The ideal candidate is energized by business development activities, enjoys interacting with clients, and wants to build a long-term career in commercial real estate loan origination.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for candidates with commercial real estate brokerage, mortgage brokerage, investment sales, or other sales-oriented real estate experience who are seeking a direct path into lending and loan origination.\nKey Responsibilities\nBusiness Development & Opportunity Sourcing\nGenerate new lending opportunities through proactive outreach to commercial real estate owners, operators, sponsors, and borrowers.\nBuild and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective loan opportunities through phone calls, emails, networking, referrals, and market coverage.\nIdentify and cultivate relationships that lead to repeat business and long-term borrower partnerships.\nPartner with the Head of Origination and senior originators to refine business development strategies, outreach campaigns, and prospecting efforts.\nMaintain detailed pipeline activity and opportunity tracking within the firm's CRM platform.\nDeal Screening & Qualification\nConduct preliminary assessments of prospective loan opportunities based on:Property type\nLoan size\nLeverage requirements\nSponsorship profile\nAlignment with the firm's lending strategy\nProbability of successful CMBS execution\n\nGather borrower information and supporting documentation.\nComplete loan opportunity summaries and qualification materials for internal review.\nPresent qualified opportunities to senior originators and coordinate a seamless handoff into the transaction process.\nOrigination Support\nSupport senior originators during the initial stages of transaction evaluation, quoting, and application issuance.\nRemain actively involved throughout the Deal Received, Quote Issued, and Application Issued stages of the origination process.\nCoordinate with underwriting and execution teams to facilitate efficient deal review and progression.\nParticipate in borrower meetings, transaction discussions, and internal pipeline review meetings.\nAssist in maintaining visibility into active transactions and market opportunities.\nRelationship Management\nDevelop and maintain relationships with borrowers, brokers, and other commercial real estate market participants.\nLearn from and work alongside senior originators, gaining exposure to a variety of relationship management and origination styles.\nSupport ongoing client engagement efforts throughout the transaction lifecycle.\nQualifications\nPreferred Experience\n1-5 years of experience in:Commercial real estate brokerage\nMortgage brokerage\nInvestment sales\nDebt placement\nBusiness development\nCommercial real estate advisory services\nCommercial real estate lending\n\nIdeal Candidate Profile\nThe successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in creating opportunities through direct outreach and relationship development.\nCandidates should be able to demonstrate:\nExperience prospecting property owners, borrowers, or real estate investors.\nSuccess developing opportunities through outbound calling, email campaigns, networking, and relationship building.\nComfort operating in a highly entrepreneurial and performance-oriented environment.\nStrong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.\nA desire to build a career in commercial real estate loan origination.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nWhile financial and real estate knowledge is important, this role is designed for individuals who view themselves primarily as business developers and relationship-builders rather than pure underwriting or analytical professionals.\nNote: This job description is not intended to be all inclusive or exclusive. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies.
