This role is an experienced senior leader who will oversees our Database Administration team, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our AWS RDS and EC2 database infrastructure. This role will be responsible for day-to-day operations in addition to setting strategic direction directly aligned to business needs.Essential Job Functions:\nLead and manage the Database Administration team, providing guidance and mentorship\nOversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of AWS RDS and EC2 databases to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance in accordance with SitusAMC’s product needs\nDevelop and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards to ensure system integrity and security\nWork with the project team and business teams to ensure database designs meet project and business requirements\nCollaborate with cross-functional technology teams to support application development, test, deployment, and provide day to day support\nLead from the front to troubleshoot problems and clearly communicate resolution to stakeholders\nLead database modernization efforts to align database technology with industry best practices\nWork with DevOps/SRE teams on creation and deployment of database templates, and coach them on database best practices\nMonitor database performance and implement solutions to optimize performance\nResponsible for monitoring database growth and capacity planning\nDevelop and enhance database encryption protocols to facilitate BYOK architectures\nPlan, coordinate, test, and execute database upgrades and migrations\nPlan, document, and execute database backup and recovery strategies.\nManage vendor relationships and evaluate new database technologies and tools.\nOther tasks as assigned by manager\nQualifications/ Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.\nMinimum of 12+ years’ experience in database administration, typically with 2+ years in a VP level role or external equivalent.\nMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role.\n3-5 years’ experience with Amazon RDS and EC2 databases.\nStrong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and optimization.\nExperience working with application developers to build and optimize database environments from ideation to implementation.\nExtensive experience in SQL and database management tools.\n3-5 years’ experience with cloud infrastructure and services, particularly AWS.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nRelevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty) are a plus.\nDirect experience with the setup and support of SQL and MySQL Server in a multi node cluster environment\nExcellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and TSQL\nStrong analytical ability, good judgment, strategic and multidimensional thinker\nDetail oriented and organized\nStrong commitment and dedication to the position and a team player\nCommitment to mentor, train, and lead staff\nRequires the ability to support both planned and unplanned events\n#LI-AS1 #LI-Remote\nNote: This job description is not intended to be all inclusive or exclusive. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies.
