This individual is an experienced administrator on the systems administration team: applying and helping refine build and hardening standards, resolving escalations from the service desk and Analyst-level administrators, and providing day-to-day guidance to less experienced staff. The Associate is responsible for the day-to-day administration of assigned platforms, including patch cadence, capacity, performance, and input into upgrade and lifecycle planning, and works independently on defined problems, escalating novel or high-risk decisions to senior staff. This role requires a degree of flexibility and collaborative working both within Technology and across the firm.Essential Job Functions:Serve as an escalation point (Tier 2/3) for server, platform, and infrastructure issues referred by the service desk and Analyst-level administrators, escalating to senior staff or vendors where required.\nSupport infrastructure workstreams on site and project development efforts, providing solution design input, effort estimates, and technical risk assessment during the planning phase.\nGather and document system requirements across project teams and support the infrastructure build, cutover, and transition of new products and services into post-launch operations throughout the life of the product or service.\nMaintain the patch and release cadence for assigned platforms; author change records, including risk assessment and rollback plans, and present them at the Change Advisory Board.\nAdminister the Kiteworks platform, including secure transfer policy configuration and enforcement, vendor escalation, and escalated end-user support.\nAbility to communicate effectively with your technical peers as well as non-technical staff.\nMaintain build standards, hardening baselines, runbooks, and technical procedures for assigned platforms, and contribute updates as systems and configurations change.\nPerform trouble resolution fixes remotely or in person, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, and configuring systems and applications.\nProvide day-to-day guidance to Analyst-level administrators and review their work for technical accuracy and standards compliance.\nConfigure and maintain monitoring, alerting, and performance baselines for business-critical systems, and perform capacity planning and tuning to prevent delays and outages. Other activities as may be assigned by your manager.\nSupport restoration efforts on Severity 1 and 2 infrastructure incidents; contribute to root cause analyses and complete assigned corrective actions.\nDevelop and maintain automation and orchestration scripts (PowerShell, Python, Terraform) that standardize routine administration tasks.\nMaintain backup and recovery configuration for assigned platforms, perform periodic restore testing, and support disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.\nTrack lifecycle and end-of-life status for assigned platforms, remediate unsupported versions, and provide input into upgrade planning and vendor sizing and renewals.\nAdminister privileged access to server and platform infrastructure and enforce security baselines in partnership with Information Security.\nParticipate in the on-call rotation and keep on-call runbooks and escalation paths current.undefined\n\nQualifications/ Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperienced professional with 5+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically at a Senior Analyst or Analyst level role or external equivalent.\nExperience in Systems Administration or a related field, including hands-on administration of enterprise platforms in a production environment.\nHands-on administration experience with AWS and Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and identity.\nExperience implementing infrastructure solutions from defined requirements with limited supervision.\nStrong hands-on administration experience across both Windows Server OS and various Linux OS (CentOS, Linux 2, Alma Linux etc.)\nHands-on experience administering Kiteworks (secure file transfer/managed file transfer), including user and policy configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.\nWorking knowledge of security hardening standards (e.g., CIS Benchmarks) and the ability to implement and maintain a secure computing environment.\nAvailability to work nights and weekends as needed.\nProficiency in PowerShell and Python, with experience building and maintaining automation and orchestration that streamlines system administration and operational tasks.\nExcellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize.\nExceptional knowledge of change management processes, including authoring change records and presenting them at a Change Advisory Board.\nKnowledge and experience with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing as well as web based applications, business applications, external/internal networks, and security.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAdvanced knowledge of systems hardware, software, and system administration.\nAt least 40-hour work week.\nSelf-Starter with ability to work as part of a team and individually as required by specific project needs.\nExperience guiding junior administrators and reviewing their work.\nExperience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery testing for enterprise systems.\nExperience participating in major incident restoration and contributing to root cause analyses.\n\nMust be physically able to handle and set up technology equipment.
