Our distributed Index team is based in Zurich and India, where data, engineering, and financial markets come together.\nAs a Senior Software Engineer focused on data, you will develop Python-based pipelines and services and take end-to-end ownership of market, reference, configuration, and index data. Working with engineering, product, architecture, QA, and SRE teams, you will ensure accurate, traceable, and resilient processing from ingestion to distribution.\nWhat You Will Do\nDesign, build, and operate Python-based data pipelines and services for market, reference, and index data across batch and real-time processing.\nOwn the data lifecycle from ingestion and validation to transformation, orchestration, reconciliation, replay, and recovery.\nDeliver modular, testable, maintainable, and observable solutions with automated testing and reliable deployment pipelines.\nBuild scalable and resilient distributed systems that handle large volumes, late or duplicate data, performance, and operational support.\nCollaborate with product, domain, architecture, QA, and SRE teams to improve data platforms, engineering standards, and modern development practices.\nWhat You Bring\nStrong hands-on Python experience developing, testing, deploying, and operating production-grade data pipelines and services; Java is an advantage.\nSolid knowledge of data engineering, including extract-transform-load patterns, data modelling, transformation, lineage, data quality, orchestration, and batch and real-time processing.\nExperience with distributed, data-intensive systems, including scalability, resilience, performance, observability, idempotency, reconciliation, and recovery.\nStrong software engineering practices, including modular design, automated testing, version control, continuous integration, and technical documentation.\nExperience with Apache Airflow or Metaflow and financial-market, time-series, or index data is an advantage; relevant degree or equivalent experience, fluent English, and German as a plus.\nIf you have any questions, check out our FAQ page or call Beata Czyzewskaat +48 22 104 6571 / +41 58 399 9800 / +34 91 330 51 49.\nFor this vacancy we only accept direct applications.\nDiversity is important to us.
