This is a role where backend engineering meets real-world operations at scale, in a team that builds with purpose and moves with pace.\n\nYOUR ROLE AT SIXT:\nYou will design and build robust backend services in Java that power vehicle turnaround and fleet orchestration workflows\nYou will contribute to the design and evolution of distributed, event-driven systems that operate at branch level and at global scale\nYou will develop and maintain shared libraries and internal tooling that improve reliability and delivery speed across the BranchOps engineering team\nYou will collaborate closely with product, operations, and engineering stakeholders to translate complex business workflows into scalable technical solutions\nYou will actively integrate AI coding tools such as Claude and Cursor into your daily development workflow, helping to embed AI-assisted engineering as a standard practice within the team\n\nYOUR SKILLS MATTER:\nYou hold a B.Tech, B.E., or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline\nYou bring 9+ years of hands-on experience in sophisticated engineering environments - including cloud-native application development, scalability problem-solving, and event-driven system design, ideally within a start-up or scale-up setting\nYou have strong, production-proven experience with Java and Spring Boot (must-have) and are confident navigating a modern microservices landscape end to end\nYou have designed or operated distributed systems and microservices architectures, with a clear understanding of the trade-offs that come with operating at scale\nYou have a solid grasp of event-driven patterns, pub-sub models, and message brokers such as Apache Kafka\nYou actively use AI coding assistants -
